The hero's next encounter with his friends was an odd one. To break the fourth wall, neither party expected to see the other and it showed.

The two groups were on their way to an abandoned castle, it rose fifteen feet tall. Vines covered the pillars and rocks coated the foundations. Murals cracked with age and weathering coated the inner sides of the walls. Stained glass windows illuminated the church sized entry and its piers. Inside on the pulpit was a loom that held a map to any magical artifacts location.

"You sure it's here, Elena?" Aklin grumbled as he continued on his rant during the neverending walk.

"Shut it you whining puppy. Soon, and then you and yours can have all the relics to yourself." Elena screamed at him. She had heard the banter hundreds of times over the few days it took them to get to where they were. She began to wonder how in the cosmos the two men had not gone crazy over the years with his constant bickering and intruding.

"I'm not winning. I'm basically god! I don't ever complain!" He dramaticized.

"You're not god, and I'll kick your fucking ass if you dont shut the hell up. We are on a stealth mission you klutz." She argued. In doing so she swiped her leg under his and slammed him onto his back. "So watch what you are talking about."

"You only did that because I wasn't looking. I could take anyone in a fight. I mean I survived the thing that killed Logan and the other one." He gloated.

"I believe it. I don't believe you. How did they die, you never told anyone." She pestered, the growing concern had taken over her.

"We were in a magical tomb and it gave me magical gifts, but in turn it collapsed and the two got stuck. I tried to save them, to get them out of the rubble, but they never made it out. I couldn't find their bodies, so I assumed." He grumbled.

The forest grew thin around them as they made their way through. Vines started to consume the tree lines as the sky began to break through. Golden halos shoved through the tree canopies, kissing the heroes face with warmth and ease.

Soon they reached the clearing that the castle sat upon. From what the duo could see it was untouched and centuries old. The grass at its base was decayed with age and dried out with lack of protection from corrosion. Rusted bars spiked out from the ground and the building folded into sharp peaks.
