Percy Jackson and the Incarnate - 2: Who is the spy?

CHAPTER 7 POV: Thyella

We were spending time with the other members of our army, for we were a family, when Chaos summoned me and Thysia. When we reached the throne room, we saw a new hooded figure we found out to be named Evlogimenos. Due to the combination of Evlogimenos's big mouth and Thysia's anger, we were now going to spar in the evening. I had no problem. A good workout. But we need to keep Evlogimenos in his place. As Chaos escorted Evlogimenos, we returned to the room and explained what happened. All of them were not so happy.

"We are going to have good entertainment.", Asteria exclaimed, and we smirked.

"Come on Thysia, we shall practice. We need to whoop Evlogimenos's ass.", I said, and he chuckled as we went to the arena. After two hours of practice, we called it day and went to our rooms to rest.

The horn sounded as evening arrived. All the Chaos army members reached the throne room. Evlogimenos was present, with a sword in his hand talking to Chaos. What they were talking about, I had no idea. The throne room was changed, and a mini arena was in the middle of the throne room. I and the others took the sidelines as Thysia readied himself with his Sword. Evlogimenos stopped his talk and readied himself to spar. Chaos sat on his throne with a small whistle hanging by his neck.

"Welcome to the spar. Today we have the host, the champion representing the Chaos Army, Thysia. On the Challenger side, we have the guest, Evlogimenos.", we snickered at his name as Chaos continued, "I shall repeat the rules. The spar will be of three rounds. The first where only weapons are used. The second where only powers are used. And third where both are used. Let the first round begin.", he said and blew the whistle.

Thysia was our best swordsman. With speed by his side, he was impossible to defeat with a sword, save me and Chaos. He took his stance and Evlogimenos the same. Evlogimenos's stance looked familiar, but I brushed it aside. He would never know what hit him.

Running at Supersonic speed, Thysia aimed for the gut. Normally, the opponent would have no time to react, and he would kill them, but Evlogimenos blocked his strike, shocking the whole room. Thysia was beyond shock for a second, and Evlogimenos used this and started to counterattack. He was relentless. Though Thysia could block his strikes, he had no opening to counterattack. His blade glowed like Celestial bronze, but it was more yellow, like the sun. We thought that this spar would end in seconds. But this spar went for more than fifteen minutes. Both were tiring. I was worried for Thysia. He started to get frustrated, which was never a good sign. And he made the mistake of gripping his sword too tightly, a mistake he always pointed out when we did. This was the one chance and Evlogimenos took it whole heartedly. He slammed at the hilt of Thysia's sword and made certain maneuvers that disarmed Thysia. Silence and Shock engulfed the room. All of us were speechless while Chaos was surprised but amused. What shocked me was the technique used. It was the same technique that Thysia taught us and used so many countless times to disarm enemies. How did Evlogimenos know this technique? He has now drawn everyone's attention. All of us now looked at him with respect and attention; for he is no pushover.

"Evlogimenos wins. Five-minute break. The second round starts.", Chaos announced.

I rushed to Thysia. He was still in shock. "Thysia! What happened?"

"I have no idea.", he said.

"Okay. This is just a glitch. You were, are and will always be our best swordsman. Maybe we underestimated the opponent. Now, you know he is no pushover. We shall now be attentive and careful.", I said, and he nodded. Evlogimenos was meditating in the five minutes. I want to know more about him. Even if he loses after this, he has gained attention. He would be a good addition to the army.

Chaos blew the whistle and the break ended. Both the duelers stood at the circle, while a protective shield was over them, so that their powers don't affect us. Thysia was our stealth expert, who could turn invisible. When the whistle started, he went invisible. Due to my power over air, I could sense him. He was going to the edge of the circle, to gain as much distance as possible. I knew his plan. He would use his light-speed punch which would throw the enemies a few light years away. Whenever he turned invisible opponents would panic. But Evlogimenos didn't and just closed his eyes and let his other senses take over.
