(Peter's P.O.V.)
"Boys! I have an announcement," I said, when Beth and I got back.
"What are you doing?" she whispered.
"You wanted both lives, so I'm going to give you both lives," I said, "if you'll have them."
She just stared at me with wide eyes.
"I'll take that as a yes," I said with a smile. Then I turned back to the Lost Boys.
"We have a princess among us," I said, gesturing to Beth. Some of the boys murmured among themselves, others just stared. "Princess Elizabeth Morrison."
Beth smiled and waved awkwardly.
"Beth hasn't been treated properly since she got to Neverland," I said. "I don't know, how to make up for the whole cage incident, but I know I have to try. So," I said, and with the flick of my wrist, a tiara appeared in my hand. Beth saw it, gasped and her hands flew to cover her mouth.
I smiled, and placed it on her head.
"May I present, Princess Elizabeth of Neverland," I said, and the Lost Boys whooped and cheered.
Beth leapt forward and hugged me. She caught me off guard and I stumbled back a bit. The Lost Boys all went "Oooh!" like little kids, but I didn't care. Beth looked up at me with her big brown eyes sparkling. She smiled and said, "Thank you."
"This? This is nothing," I said, hoping I wasn't blushing. That wouldn't be very 'Peter Pan' like.
"Well, it means so much to me," she said.
"Well, then, I'm glad I could make you happy," I said.
That night we celebrated Beth's coronation. There was any food that the Lost Boys and Beth could think of (mostly desserts) and music and dancing, and I could tell Beth was happy. I left so I could finish up the surprise.
I was making her a tree castle. Outside, it looked like a large tree with a big window halfway up the trunk, but the inside was designed to look like a small palace. I walked up the spiral staircase to her room. It was still missing something. I walked over to her vanity, and used magic to put a tiara display case over to the side. Then I added three new tiaras to it.
When everything was perfect, I smiled excitedly and ran back to camp.
"There you are!" Beth said when I got back. She was still wearing her tiara. "Where have you been?"
"How long was I gone?" I asked.
"About twenty minutes," she said. "You're missing the whole party. What were you doing?"
"Follow me," I said, and took her hand in mine. Her hand was soft, and I was worried my calloused hands would cut hers. But she didn't complain.
"Wait," I said, stopping her. I waved my hand and a cobblestone path appeared.
"Fancy," Beth said. "Just what are you up to, Pan?"
"You'll see," I said, and we started walking down the path.
"Where are we going?" she asked.
"Shush, you'll spoil the surprise!" I told her, getting even more excited.
Beth squeezed my hand and I knew she was excited too. Well, that or scared.
When we got near her tree, which wasn't far from mine, I asked her, "Do you trust me?"
"I trust you," she said without a moments hesitation. I smiled.
"Okay, then close your eyes," I said. "I'll lead the rest of the way."
