(Beth's P.O.V.)

Soon, Lost Boys were falling asleep. Some in their tents, some draped over logs and such in the middle of camp. Peter and I started going to our trees. His was closer to camp so we walked there together.

When we got there, I kissed him and said, "Goodnight."

I turned to walk towards my tree, but Peter wouldn't let go of my hand. I turned back and he was pouting at me. I laughed.

"Do you want me to stay here tonight?" I asked.

"Yes, please," he said. I laughed again.

"Okay, I'll go get into some pajamas," I said.

"Kay," he said and went inside.

I jogged to my tree and got into my white nightgown. I also grabbed Teddy and my jar of Firefly light. Then I jogged back to Peter's tree.

I knocked on the door and he opened it.

"Hello again," I said with a curtsy.

He laughed and bowed, then I came in. I put my firefly light on the ledge near his bed.

"Why'd you bring that?" he asked.

"So I can see," I said. "Plus it makes me feel safe."

"So, it's a nightlight?" he asked.

"Well, not a nightlight, per say," I said, feeling embarrassed about needing something so childish.

"Beth? Are you afraid of the dark?" Peter asked with a tiny smile.

"Of course not!" I said. I paused. Then I said in a baby voice, "I'm just afraid of Neverland at nighttime," then I pouted.

He smiled at me and said, "Don't worry, I would never let anything happen to you," while he sat down on the bed next to me. I hugged me and kissed my cheek.

I smiled and said, "I know."

I scooted over and pulled the covers over me. He did the same next to me and I turned to look at him.

"Do you mind if I ask what had you in such a grumpy state earlier?" I asked.

"I dunno," Peter said. "I guess I was just in a bad mood."

"Was it something I did?" I asked.

"No, of course not," he said. He pushed my hair out of my face. "I just, don't know. It wasn't right of me to take it out on you. I'm sorry."

"It's okay," I said, then leaned forward and pecked his nose. He smiled, and asked, "So you're not mad at me?"

"Absolutely not," I said.

He looked at me for a moment, then smiled.

"You're amazing," he said.

"I know, right?" I joked and he laughed.

"So, what did Felix say that was so funny when you guys got back to camp?" he asked.

"Nothing important," I said, "just a joke about him being my 'steed' since I was on his back. Why?"

"No reason," he said, not looking me in the eye. "Just noticed, and was curious."

I realized what was up and grinned.

"What?" he asked.

"You're jealous, aren't you?" I asked, still grinning.

"No!" Peter exclaimed, too quickly. He blushed.
