A Mermaid's Tail

Chapter 2

Amelia's P.O.V.

I groan and cough as I wake up. I had a huge head ache and felt like death. When I opened my eyes I was in the sleeping tent with Bella sleeping beside me. "Bella" I gently shake her wake. She groans as she wakes up. "A-Amelia? What happened? How did we get here?" she asks confused, her voice broken.

"I-I don't know the last thing remember is getting outta the water then feeling dizzy and passing out" I answer her.

"So that wasn't a dream" she questions.

"Well we both can have the same dream can we...Unless we're psychic. OMG! We're psychic" I joke to lighten the mood. She looked at me with the face that said 'that's-not-funny'. Just when I was about to reply, someone came into the tent.

"Thank God you're okay!"exclaimed my mother as she hugged me. When I looked over I saw that Emma, Bella's mother was hugging her as well.

"Mom. What happened? How are we here?" I ask her confused.

"Well, you two went missing and we looked everywhere and when we were going back to town for help we found you two lying on the beach. Then we brought you back here" she explains calmly but I could sense her worry. "What happened with you two? Why were you two all the way over there? Are you okay? You aren't hurt are you?" questions Emma, full of worry. My mom is always calm and professional, even at home. Emma is a little over dramatic and worries a lot like Bella.

I answer before Bella could. "We're fine. I heard sound in the wood and went to see what it was then got lost and ended up at the beach. I guess we fell asleep there."

"Oh okay. We will leave you alone so you can get some rest. We'll be going home tonight" my mum says calmly before leaving me and Bella alone.

"Do you wanna go for a walk on the beach?" Bella asks me as she stands up and stretches her arms and legs.

"Yeah, sure" we change into another outfit and ask our mums before we go for a walk on the beach. They said okay but they walked us to the beach just to make sure we don't get lost again and then went back.

"So what happened last night" asks unsurely Bella.

"Got lost. Found a cave with carvings and paintings, then got sucked into it. Fell in a pool in the volcano and almost drowned. The water went crazy. Then we past out, somehow ended upon the beach and was brought back to the camp by our parents" I explain it to her like it was the most normal thing ever, but it was the most craziest thing I ever said out loud.

"You make it sound like nothing happened." She replied shocked. I sign and run a hand though my curly long dark brown hair. "I don't even know if I believe what I saw last night. Things like that don't happen. That's not normal." I answer her. We both stayed there in a comfortable silence as we watched the waves gently crashed against the golden sand. "Wanna go for a swim" asks Bella.

"Sure" I reply as I took of my cloths and headed into the water with Bella beside me. Just as I hit the water, I began to feel tingles up my legs and felt my legs form together as one and when I looked down. I had a tail. I Amelia Grace De Santis had a tail.

"What the hell!" I screamed out.

"You! I-I...! We have t-tails!" yells out Bella. I look over to her and saw that she was like me aswell, but the colour was different. My tail was a mix of electric blue and deep sea blue scales, but Bella's was a mix of violet and royal purple scales. They were both breath taking and beautiful with a doubt. That's not the only thing different. Bella's eyes were a purple colour same as her tail purple and had highlights in her brown hair that matches her tail and eyes.
