"Ok, ok that's enough," Sensei says to Miguel " save some for the tournament"Sensei adds "why are we the only one here sensei?" Miguel asks "cause let's face it you guys are the only chance I got of winning this thing" Sensei answers looking disappointed "so we're your best student?" I ask with a teasing smile "don't flatter yourself. you seen the others?" Sensei asks as I pull out my phone "what's so funny?" he asks Miguel "his girlfriend" I answer looking back down at my phone.

Me: I took the day off. You stalking me Keene?

Me: I'm messing with you Get back to work

" Bella you aren't associated with a LaRusso are you," Sensei asks as I put my phone down "umm no Sensei" I answer as Miguel gives me a look "right then your free to go," Sensei says "yes Sensei" I answer grabbing my bags

"ISABELLA DINNER" I hear my mother yell "COMING" I shout back "why is Sensei here?" I ask with a confused look walking into the dining room "Isabella don't be rude" my mom scolds "ok then" I say sitting down.
After Yaya says grace we all begin eating "so the twins told me about the tournament, I hope they don't get hurt" my mom says talking to Johnny, "Mom, I told you, referee, you can't get hurt" Miguel answers quickly "at least not permanently" Sensei adds "not helping" I whisper looking to Sensei "they'll be fine" Sensei quickly adds " So have you always lived in Reseda?" My mom asks, trying to make small talk, "No, I grew up in Encino," Johnny answers as my phone chimes.

My phone read "hey did you give Eli my number" I ask Miguel quietly so my mom doesn't hear "yea why" Miguel answers "oh nothing" I say looking back down at my phone with a smile
me: hey
I answer "Mija off the phone please," my mom asks softly "ok mom," I say with a slight attitude "oh god sorry," Miguel says grabbing his phone as it buzzes "it's ok mijo be quick before your food gets cold" my mom reassures as I give her a look "wow" I snicker pulling my phone back out as my mother looks at me "who is that," my mom asks looking down at my phone "oh um a friend"I answer avoiding eye contact as I feel my cheeks burn red "mhm," my mom says in a teasing tone
Eli: wyd?
me: eating
Eli: What are you eating?
me: food duh
Eli: call me
me: no
Eli: why not :(
me: I'm having dinner with my family Eli
Eli: maybe I could come over and have dinner with your family sometime
Me: absolutely not
Eli: what why
Me: because of that Mohawk and tattoo
Eli: I'll take my hair down if that makes it better

Eli: I think Aisha's gonna go but you could ask Miguel if you want

"I'm so glad the twins are finally making some nice friends, it's been difficult for them, we've had to move a lot," my mom says " where are you guys from originally?" Johnny asks " Ecuador " my mom answers "oh why did you leave?" Johnny asks again "because she fell in love with a shithead." Yaya says in Spanish I let out a little laugh as my mom glares at me "I got married at 18. after I became pregnant with the twins, I learned the truth about my husband's job." my mom says looking at me "let's just say he's a very bad man and he had to get far away from him. For the best you understand that right Bella," my mom adds, looking at me concerned "yes mama" I say looking at my food. "I'm going to bed, night sensei, night mom, night yaya," I say walking to my room
"Bella," Miguel says as I walk into our room "yea?" I ask, turning to him, "Sam was acting different when her dad asked who she was talking to." Miguel says "Duh she's obviously going to act differently around her parents." I answer sitting at my desk "so it's nothing I should be worried about?" Miguel asks unsure "yea you're overthinking it," I say, cleaning my face "ph ok night Bella," he says climbing to his bed "night Miguel" I answer turning off the light.
