Chapter 1: New Beginning

Park Hyun Shik blankly played with a toy. A few hours had passed since his earlier outburst and he still can't believe his current situation.

He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. He decided to organize his thoughts.

'...I can't believe this. Isn't this something that happens in novels? And that happened to me- ugh, does that mean, like the protagonists of those novels, I'll have to deal with troublesome things?'

He then huffed when he reached that thought. It was too unbelievable.

'....Nah, get a hold of yourself, Park Hyun Shik.'

He slowly opened his eyes and suddenly slapped himself on the cheeks.

'But really, is reincarnation a trend? For it to happen to me... someone must have made a mistake.'

He lowered his hands to his sides and stared at the window. It was sunny outside.

'It's not like I'll miss anything on Earth.'

He thought back on his previous life. There really wasn't anything he would miss. His only regret though was that he wasn't able to attend his graduation ceremony and receive his hard-earned diploma. It was also a pity that he wasn't able to continue his designs and inventions.

'One good thing about this reincarnation is I don't need to go back to that lab with people that always ditch their work to me.'

Park Hyun Shik then smiled that smile.

If Raon was there he would have asked him.

'Baby, are you going to loot someone?!?'

But alas, they did not meet yet.

For the past month, there were a few things Park Hyun Shik noticed after reincarnating in this world.

1. The people who come to visit him speak to him using an unfamiliar but familiar language.

2. His learning speed is faster than in his previous life.

Because of that, he was able to understand the people here. Which was incredible.

He was able to infer that his name was Alexander Lincoln. He's currently 1 year and 4 months old which means he was 1 year and 3 months old when he got his past life's memories. It was fortunate that he was able to speak(?) and walk(?) when he did. He got the chills just thinking of having his mobility taken away from him.

It was also fortunate that this body's previous actions were not like usual babies. He might have been suspected if he suddenly changed overnight.

3. There was a woman who was with him the most. The woman is very, very beautiful. Her royal blue hair reached her waist and her green eyes were like a lush forest. She had red lips, long lashes, and unblemished skin. And add to that, her beautiful voice makes you think of a siren.

He couldn't help but stare at her in admiration.

4. And that woman was his current MOM!

He was shocked at first but became excited the next second.

'She looks too young to be a mother, but if she is that beautiful doesn't that mean I inherited her genes as her son?!? Wow, I want to see myself in a mirror.'

Unfortunately, there is no mirror in the room. From what he heard from the maid (they have maids!), they are afraid that the mirror may shatter and harm him. Even the furniture has corner guards!

5. His mother's family is rich, like super rich.

Just looking at the interior of the room proves his point.

Some furniture is made of gold, GOLD! Who uses gold in a toddler's room?!? And why?!?

And he has an answer to that, courtesy to the old man who came to see him.

One day, he was staring at one of those shocking pieces of furniture when an old man came into his room. He was startled when a stranger suddenly entered but calmed down when he saw his mother by the door.

She must have known him to allow him entry right?

He then decided to ignore them and return his gaze to a glittering lamp.

The old man smiled pleasantly at him. He followed his gaze and lit up with what he saw.

"Oh, is our little Alex interested in those?" He asked with amusement in his tone.

He turned his gaze back to the old man and seemingly happy at getting his attention, the old man continued his words with a smile.

"Those were gifts sent to you by us, the Kings of the Beast Tribes. They said you deserve the best, and I wholeheartedly agree with them."

For Park Hyun who was an average person in his past life, it was overwhelming.

6. There were a lot of people who visited him. An example of that was the old man from before. He said he's one of the Kings. The Owl King.

How did he know? The old man said it himself. Park Hyun Shik could only tilt his head in confusion before his jaw dropped.

It was that shocking.

When the old man saw him widen his eyes in shock, he laughed in his transformed form.

Honestly, it was scary. Imagine a big owl looming over you while opening its big beak. Who wouldn't get scared of that?!?

Well, after a while, he didn't look that scary anymore. He actually looks kinda cool.

7. Park Hyun Shik was not sure where he currently is but when he asked they said it is called Shangri-La.

He was confused if it was only a name or if it entails something but for now, he imagined a floating island or something because he swears he saw clouds on his window one time. Since the old dude was an owl, wouldn't flying not be a problem then?

He'll have to make sure once he goes out but for now, he let his fantasies get ahead of him.

8. Park Hyun Shik doesn't have a father. Which is shocking.

His mother is beautiful and kind. She embodied the true meaning of 'beauty inside and out'. That's why he was confused. Did something happen?

He'll try to find out if the opportunity arises.

Right?? I apologize for my previous self. This was my first work and ig it can't be helped. Thankfully, writing other stuff probs helped me improve. Well, I hope I did.
