When a glimmer appeared in her office, Esther immediately stood up from her seat and walked towards it. It has only been a few minutes since their call was disconnected, and yet Cale is already here.
'He could have finished his meal first.'
Nevertheless, Esther had a smile on her face. She could feel how much affection the man had for their child.
'Although, was it brunch by now? Cale never woke up early in the morning ever since the war.'
Esther was smiling to herself when the light finally dissipated, and in it appeared Cale and the three children.
"Kind Esther!"
"Esther-nya!" "Esther-nya!"
Esther greeted the children as they circled her in excitement. She patted their heads as she called their names one by one.
"Hello, On. Hong. Raon. How have you been, my darlings?"
Immediately, the children answered her as if they were waiting for her to ask. She could feel how excited they were by the vibration on their bodies as they clung to her.
"We're fine, nya! We started taking classes with Uncle Ron and Grandpa Haben, nya!"
"Cale gives us rewards when they praise us! Our piggy banks' are full now, nya!"
"And Human asked Beacrox to make Candy Apples when we did a good job on our homework! Oh! I still have some with me, you can have one too for doing a good job of taking care of our dongsaeng, Kind Esther!"
Esther gave her thanks as she took the offered candy apple from the young dragon's paw.
She then directed her gaze towards Cale and his other companions. Which in her opinion, is a lot.
'Did he bring his whole gang here? How did he do that in those few minutes?'
Blinking her eyes, Esther composed herself and smiled at them in greeting.
"Greetings to you all. I suppose all of you know the reason I have called Cale here?"
"No, we did not. Do you know how shocked we were when we heard him saying that he had to go to his wife and child? I lost my grip on my alcohol, Your Majesty! That's how- ugh!"
"Shut up, Bud!"
Bam!
"Glenn! But-!"
Bam!
"Ack! That really hurts, y'know?!?"
"Then shut your mouth, you moron!"
BAM!
Esther furrowed her brows in confusion at the sudden violence, but seeing that the others were doing nothing to stop it led her to assume that it was a common occurrence.
She hoped.
It was then that someone spoke up amidst the commotion.
"Greetings, Your Majesty. It is my luck to be graced by your presence. I believe the last time we met was at my coronation?"
"Greetings to you too, Your Majesty, the Emperor. For someone of your prestige to visit us is truly our honor. And yes, you are correct, and once again I give my sincere congratulations to you."
