Alexander slowly stuffed his mouth with the tower of sweets on his plate as he listened to the adults talk.

Silvia moved her attention towards the direction of Alexander and asked the hovering Raven.

"By the way, Kirby, how are the preparations coming along?"

Kirby was busy adding a plate of eclairs to Alexander's side of the table when the others focused on him. He did not even raise his head when he answered her, "The phoenixes who volunteered to be a part of the reinforcement are ready. The food, equipment, and others are also done~."

"The training of the brigade is also done," Silvan chimed in.

It was Doris who then the two next, "You two are going with the phoenixes, right?"

"Yep~"

"That's correct."

Otus stared at the two. He knows that the two of them knew better but he couldn't help but advise them both and be concerned, "You better be careful, both of you. You couldn't be careless on a battlefield."

Silvia nodded her head in agreement, they knew from experience what could happen in a blink of an eye.

"That's true. I already reminded my sons who are participating. Lives can be lost in a moment of carelessness, keep your wits with you."

Immediately, a serious aura enveloped both Kirby and Silvan as they nodded their heads solemnly. Alexander couldn't help being amazed at their rare show of likeness. This is proof that the two are really the best of friends. The atmosphere grew more solemn when Kirby and Silvan nodded at each other and said seriously.

"There is one thing we regret though."

"Something we will dearly miss."

"?"

The others looked at them in confusion. Whatever could the two mean?

It was Silvan this time who talked first, "We would not be able to see Al for a long time."

"Yes, I can't have my weekly dose of Al," Kirby added as he nodded seriously.

Alexander looked at them dumbfounded.

'Eh..? Why me???'

Did he hear wrong? Surely they did not say that, right? The atmosphere was too serious for something like that right?

But when Alexander turned his towards the others, he was speechless. All three of them looked serious as they nodded their heads in agreement.

"We truly understand."

"You must strengthen your resolve."

"Think of this as mental training, you two."

'...am I missing something here?'

"Uh, everyone...?" Alexander hesitantly tried to get everyone's attention.

Funnily enough, all of them looked at him at the same time. He would have laughed if the current situation wasn't absurd.

Alexander sighed in defeat, he gave up on understanding. He then turned around to look at Beth behind him.

"Beth!"

Earlier, after she set Alexander down, Beth immediately returned to his quarters and retrieved the wooden box by Alexander's orders. Now she stood outside the gazebo with a wooden box in her arms.

Beth walked towards him and placed the wooden box on the table then bowed and returned to her post. The adults expressed curiosity about the box, but did not say anything and waited for Alexander to talk.
