"Just give him some time, He will come around," they said
"I will talk to him, he will understand it's a mistake" they assured
She truly made an effort to find some solace in people's words but they didn't know him like she did. They hadn't seen how stubborn he could be if he decide on something. They hadn't seen the disappointment swirling in his eyes every time they met hers. They were unaware of the harsh words he could utter to her after all, they hadn't seen them inside the four walls of his tiny apartment.
"You have to meet new people, get him out of your system"
"Ignore him, better block him"
" I know I know, I know" She screamed internally. She knew more than them. She wasn't a kid having her heart broken for the first time. She was familiar with the process she had to go through but it was not as simple as they sound it to be.
First and foremost she was reluctant to let go of the feelings she has for him. Those feelings were too precious for her. The immense affection she had him for wasn't something she wanted to forget due to their one fallout especially when her love for him made her feel rich even though the pain crippled her from the inside
New faces did no good to her either. The truth she couldn't see on their face would merely make her grow anxious. The smiling face and their politeness would strike her trust issues driving her to wonder what their motives truly were.
In a world filled with fake concerns and repeated lies, she saw everyone as fibsters. Only his actions would feel real, only his words would feel honest. Taehyung never lied to her because he never needed to. He was used to shoving the bitter truth down her throat. Even if it was him saying that he didn't love her the same or confirming that she was a troubled girl drowning in insecurities, she at least knew they were true.
He was a harsh reality check for her because never once he had sugar-coated any truth for her nor brewed sweet words just to feed her ego but it didn't mean he didn't care.
He cared for her more than she ever cared for him and though they were never visible in his words, his action would scream them out for her.
"We should buy this cake for our anniversary to celebrate" she had exclaimed picking up a dark chocolate fudge cake box after being in a relationship with him for nearly a year.
"Why should we celebrate?" he inquired in an amused tone as though her statement didn't make any sense to him.
"Of course, we got to celebrate it, after all, I am your longest relationship" she cracked a joke earning a scoff from him. He had a smile on his face but she knew a lot more than that was going inside of him.
"But you are happy with me right," she had questioned him even though she was nervous to hear his reply.
"It's not like I am in Euphoria" he had responded casually.
"I am neither thrilled nor sad, In fact, the relationship is just from your side, I am just enjoying the benefits of the tag" He had stated getting occupied with other items on the display.
His words brought huge distress to her but she knew she couldn't expect more from him given that she had declared him as her boyfriend without his proper consent.
Repeating the words she had been saying to herself whenever his words would prick her heart, she had pretended to be fine hiding behind her smile. However, when their anniversary actually arrived, she found him baking a cake for her including all of her favorite food.
"You were always way out of the league for him to be honest, I mean look at you, you can get any guy with the snap of your finger, and yet he never appreciated you. Your relationship was so worthless" The feeling of wanting to puke grew within her listening to the guy who was supposed to be her friend.
Seeing her remain silent, he placed his hand over her and mentioned "I feel so sorry for you"
"I know you need someone right now and I can be your shoulder to cry...honestly, I can take you to a good Italian restaurant and then we can go to my home and I can help you to feel better" he squeezed her hand as he continued showing off what he could do for her, Saya narrowed her eyes wondering if he had always been so shallow.
Hitting on the girl who recently got her heartbroken, she pondered if he honestly believed, she jump into his lap when it hadn't even been a month since her break up.
"How well do you even know Taehyung?" She questioned yanking his hands off, rendering the guy go speechless.
"What do you know about him to judge him, because as far as I remember, every time he came in front of you, you ran off with your tails between your legs so what gives you right to comment on how our relationship was" she snapped getting up from the bench to leave.
She cursed herself for thinking it would be a good idea to go on a walk with a guy like him but then she didn't know what an opportunist he was.
"I am aware, I don't know him well but witnessing how he dumped you it is quite obvious that he never loved you. " He finished intentionally poking her where it hurts the most.
"Oh, Trust me he loved me more than any shallow guy can ever love. Most importantly He loved me for this" she pointed at her heart "Not for this" she then pointed at her face. "It's something that you cannot understand" she spat at him before walking past him.
She was fuming, stomping her way to her building. Tears began well up ad even though she didn't want to suspect Taehyung's affection for her, doubt was a cruel thing that had slowly crept within her.
He broke up with her didn't mean he never loved her. He took a step to get out of their relationship wasn't proof that his affection was insincere.
Fetching her keys, she opened the main door to her building and climbed up the stair flaring her nose. She was done listening to people who had no clue about her bond with Taehyung.
She reached her floor wiping off the tears lingering in the corner of her eyes only to find Taehyung in front of her door ringing the bell with a container in his hand.
"Taehyung" She breathed out in surprise and when he noticed her, he gave her a tight-lipped smile.
"I figured you haven't cooked dinner yet" he lifted the container to his face, showing food he had cooked and packed for her.
"Wanna eat watching The Office?" He asked making all of her doubts fade on their own

"I love you," he said, gazing deeply into my eyes, sending shivers down my spine.
Hearing those words was a sweet and joyous moment. Yet, along with my happiness, a pang of sadness tugged at my heart. Reality reminded me that our relationship was destined for failure.
I longed to build a future with him, create a family, and spend my life wrapped in his warm embrace. But he didn't share the same desires. He wanted to avoid any entanglements.
It's a heartbreaking fate
