She glanced at the pregnancy test and breathed a sigh of relief. Her period had been two weeks late, making her incredibly anxious, but it turned out that stress was the culprit behind the delay. She hadn't messaged Taehyung in a while. Their last meeting had left a bitter taste, preventing her from reaching out to him. Besides, the way he ended things didn't sit well with her either. He had given her hope of getting back together, only to cruelly snatch it away, making her pain even more intense. Yet, despite it all, her heart still longed for him.

She wonder why was she so attached to the person. Not that he treated her the best and he never was a traditional boyfriend who would hold her hand, kiss her or ever validate her feelings in any way. He did care for her but he cared for her like he cared for any other friend of his. Was it because she never had a close male figure in her life?

When she was just a child, her father had chosen the toxic embrace of alcohol and the allure of other women over the solemn duty of parenthood. Left to navigate life without his guidance, she bore the burden of his absence with a heavy heart. She didnt have a brother either so It was safe to say he was the first guy that had occupied her life and space in such intensity. He had filled the void of a male figure in her life. Needless to say, Taehyung had her greatest respect. She idolized him and cared for him like he was her own family. She always saw their bond to be very sacred, something she cherished more than as much as she cherished her bond with her elder sister.

Saya always saw their relationship to be special. The level of intimacy and comfort they had was something she had never shared even with her own family. He knew sides of her that even her mother didnt know. Therefore, even if she couldn't have him as her partner, she wanted him as her friend as he was someone she could confide to.

Swallowing all the pain in, she texted him that she wasn't pregnant and would be coming to Dageu for a week. Since covid was raising she would be doing home office anyways. Maybe she could talk out with him and try to fix their relationship. She had to know why after wanting to be with her, he had changed his mind all of a sudden.

As usual, she got a one-word reply but she didnt heed it much. She was used to his indifference, it was the thing that bothered her the least. Plus, her friends were coming to visit her on the weekend so she had something to look forward to.

When she was back in Dague, she tried her best not to think about Taehyung and enjoyed their company to the fullest. There were several occasions she wanted to run to him but she contained herself waiting for her to approach her and explain his action. And just like that her wish was fulfilled by a simple text.

Mr. Kim

Wanna go out for a walk?

Saya hurriedly responded to him and got ready. Her heart was racing to see him again. She had missed him so intensely so it didnt take her time to respond okay and rushed outside of the building where he was waiting for her.

He greeted her with a hug but there was clearly a difference. He appeared more aloof and he was very conscious in the way he would approach her. As they walked by the park nearby he started the conversation.

"How is your internship going on?"

"It is going good, I am more confident than before, my manager is happy with my work" Her response visibly made him happy. It was as if he was relieved that she was doing okay.

"I am sorry for last week, I fucked up really bad. I have no clue why I did what I did" His apology quickly melted her heart and It didnt take her a second to forgive him.

"It's okay but I hope you know that was a shitty move," She let out a chuckle as if she was already over it. As if she, didnt spend two weeks in hell, crying and lamenting herself for not living up to his expectation.
