Lapis POV

It's been a couple weeks since the incident and Peridot seemed to not want to talk about her past. She actually seemed to hardly want to talk at all.

"Hey Peri!" I said with a smile upon my face. Peridot turned around from her locker and smiled back but not as happily as mines "Hey Lazuli" she almost said plainly.
My smile began to disappear as she grabbed the last of her books she'll be needing. "D-do you need help with that?" I asked. But Peri just declined my request and walked off.

My heart burned at whatever Peridot was doing towards me. Are we taking things too fast... I thought to myself. I ran up besides her as we walked to our Biology class. She sat at an empty desk. Gladly I sat next to her and settled my things down. I looked over to her warm smile making me feel a bit better.

"How was your sleep last night Lazuli?" She asked.
"Steven wouldn't stop fussing last night, I think he's teething to be honest" I replied as I wrote the subjects title in my notebook. "What about you Peri?" I asked her.
"I was trying to figure out how to mutate an iguana and rabbit DNA together and create a new series of species" she responded while laughing. "The sad part is that I didn't have an iguana egg" both Peridot and I began to laugh with eachother. She was a dork and really nerdy but I found it very adorable. oh to tell you I love you.. the dream to be ready to tell you that I thought. Peridot and I weren't ready yet to day I love you yet which killed me everyday.

Peridot intertwined our hands together as she wrote on her notebook and listen to the teachers long lectures. "Lapis?" The teacher called out having me to quickly turn my head to the front board "Yes?" I asked the teacher.
"Miss Universe it's 'Present' " the teacher spoke causing Peridot to giggle. "S-sorry" I responded. Peridot rubbed her thumb over the base of my hand as she read the Biology worksheets instructions. She's done this a lot lately, my face goes red and I'm a hard mess for a good hour. When I looked over to her she was resting her head on her free arm and I couldn't help but smile at the sight of her look so beautiful without even trying.

I love you..so much I thought in my head. But just like all great stories, something had to interrupt the main character. The teachers squeaking voice threw me back to reality. Oh my god I'm gonna be here forever.... Learning about genetics was like learning how to do multiplications again.. only now you're using letters instead of numbers.

"Now with the Punnet square all you have to do is write a capital T up here and a lowercase t right beside, the same thing applies to the other side of the square and now that will confirm that this child is dominant. But this child is recessive" the teacher said as she wrote on the white board. You lost me at 'Now'.. I'm never gonna understand this by the end of class.. I thought as I tried to take as much notes as I could. I threw my head on my desk in a cry if help. "You need help Lazuli?" A familiar voice spoke.

I turned my head to see a relaxed Peridot looking at me in the corner of her eye while she still rested her head on her arm. Her glasses hid such beautiful eyes as I looked at her with rosy cheeks. "Y-yeah I don't get it.." I said as I quickly stood up and looked back at my paper utterly embarrassed. "Here's it's easy let me draw it out for you" Peridot responded, she silently snickered as she grabbed a piece of paper from her binder and placed it in front of me.

She drew a square on the white sheet, but I was mostly paying attention to the purple mark on her eye. All that because of me..
"Take it as the capital T's are larger cats" I watched as she drew a cat that was very large with a capital T on the top of it's head. "and the lowercase t's are kittens basically" she said drawing a smaller petite kitten with a lowercase t above it's head as well.

After a good while of her explaining I finally understood the concept and finished the worksheet. "You're a pretty good teacher Peri" I giggled as I watched a smile grow across her face "Thanks" she said with her sweet voice.

"Wanna go.. to the movies later?" I asked her as I finished writing my name on my paper. "Sure.. what movie?" She asked as she herself wrote on her paper. "Mmm the new Spider-Man movie is out" I suggested as I was deep in thought of how perfect this first date could be. "No way home, right?" Peri asked me, of course I politely confirmed. "Sure, I'll pick you up" Peri answered as she got up from her seat and turned her paper in.

Pick me up?
