They all know

With every little bit of bad news there's this feeling in the back of my mind. Like if I'm balancing on a ledge and if one more thing happens I'll just fall over. No not like fall over and die but like fall over and everything will be better, I wouldn't feel anything but free. If by now you have no idea what the hell I'm talking about, I'm talking about my humanity switch. I find myself wondering what if I just switch it off but I won't. At least not now? Because I have to help Elena. Oh so you're probably confused by now so let's rewind this a little.

Earlier:

I finally park in my driveway at now ten in the morning and walk inside. Isabelle and Jeremy are on the couch just sitting. Well this is weird.

I stop after closing the door and raise my eyebrows at them. "Did you two hook up?"

"What? No." Jeremy defends getting up. Isabelle gets up after him. "Where the hell were you, something happened." She says.

"Uh out. I needed some time....what happened?" I ask. She ignores my question. "Time from what?" She raises her voice and I arch my eyebrow. "What do you mean time from what. Maybe everything happening in this stupid town now can someone tell me what the hell happened?" I argue back.

"Elena's a vampire." Jeremy says. Uhh? "Elena's a what now?" I blurt out still looking at them wide eyed. "How the hell? What? Wait huh? How?" I ramble. "Your besty Rebekah ran her and Matt off the road." Jeremy says bitterly.

"So she died....wait what happened to Matt?" I ask slightly panicking. "He's fine, Stefan saved him....but something happened to Tyler." Jeremy answers. "What? What happened to Tyler wait I don't care what happened is he okay?" I ask. Jeremy avoids eye contact and shakes his head and I feel my knees about to give up on me but I fight through it. Keep your calm Emmy. Breathe. "So he couldn't have saved Elena? Isn't he supposed to be in love with her or something?" I snap and he looks kind of concerned because I ignored the information about Tyler. God I know it's not Stefan's fault and if he saved Elena first Matt would have probably died. Breathe Emmy.

"It's not his fault." Jeremy says and I take a deep breath. "I know, i know."

"Why do you look like there's more news?" I tilt my head slightly at him. He hesitates and avoids eye contact. "Because there is." He says. "Can we talk?" He asks. I nod walking up to my room and he follows behind me. "What is it?" I question furrowing my eyebrows at him. He sits on my bed and gestures for me to sit next to him.

"So... so since Elena is basically...um, dead that means..." he starts and I stifle a gasp. "Ric's dead....again." I mutter in realization and he sighs nodding. "He uh came to see me when he....yeah he told me something." He continues and I wait for him to go on. "He said that he knows you've been through alot and believes in you." He tells me and I feel my eyes sting with tears. "He also says that your strong and you'll get through anything that you're going through." He finishes and I try to stifle a sniffle but then I wipe my tears off of my face and stand up to face Jeremy. "Well next time you see him, tell him we'll find a way to bring him back." I say. "No where is Elena?" I ask.

Jeremy and I drive to the house. Isabelle thought it was best she starts looking for answers because I showed her the screenshots of the book we found. She's still mad at me though. I guess I understand why but all I care about right now is Elena and Ric.

I get out of the car with Jeremy behind me and we walk inside. "Uh you should probably stay here so you don't turn into a human bloodbag." I tell him. He goes to argue but he stops and then sits down while I walk upstairs. I walk into Elena's bedroom and Stefan and Damon are there. Of course Damon's here. Now is so not the time to be jealous Emmy. I just walk into the room ignoring everyone else and sit next to Elena on the bed and to my surprise she immediately hugs me. Was not expecting that. I wrap an arm around her and look at Stefan.
