Eileen and I walk back into my house after training. I've finally gotten things balanced so we woke up at like five this morning to train and I actually learnt some cool tricks. Later I have to go to the boarding house and actually use those cool tricks but let's not get into that just yet. Marcus is on the couch drinking blood out of a glass and I smirk at him. "I honestly think you secretly came all this way to get that glass back."
He looks up and smiles shaking his head and some of his hair shakes into his eyes. "No way you actually kept that." He laughs. I also get a blood bag from the fridge and then sit down next to him. Eileen went upstairs and I hear the shower. I don't know what she's up to because these days she's barely been here. "How was the whole feeding experience with Stefan?" I ask him. He runs his hand through his hair. "No offense to your friend but I think I actually rather to drink from people than that." He replies. I nod. "Mhm only good thing about basically selling my soul when I turned was that Stefan didn't get a chance to teach me that." I tell him. "Well consider yourself lucky." He breathes out. "It's just so weird." He adds.
"I don't want to hurt anyone though. I'm fine with the bloodbag."
"You're fine with the bloodbags because you haven't been around actual people yet....but don't worry there's other cool tricks that we have." I tell him.
I park at a small bar just like five minutes out of Mystic Falls and look over at Marcus who's in the passenger seat. "Today we are learning the art of compulsion." I announce. He furrows his eyebrows at me. "Okay basically mind contril." I roll my eyes and then he nods. "Okay but just so you know, when we go in there all you're going to be able to focus on is the sound of everyone's blood rushing and there's vains pulsing and the sound of their heart beating and all that fresh warm blood.." i say and I see his face start to transform and I point at him. "That is exactly what we want not to happen." I say."I can't help it.." he argues. "When you feel that about to happen you close your eyes take a deep breath and focus all your energy onto something other than food okay." I explain. He hesitates but he asks anyway. "What's that for you?"
"Umm...Ice cream or sometimes Damon." I say the last part quickly and he nods. "Os Damon the emo guy who was staring daggers into my head?" He questions with a fake a amused look and I roll my eyes. "He's not emo but yes.— okay so alcohol helps curb the cravings so we're going to go inside and you're going to compell the bartender to give you two drinks."
"Did you....did you ever compell me?" He asks but I shake my head. "Nope that was all charm." I reply and then add. "But just know if somehow you get out of control in there I will temporarily put you down." I tell him and hw widens his eyes and then nods. "Got it."
We get out of the car and walk inside and immediately eyes are on us. Only about ten people are in here and most of them are half drunk anyways. I hear the faint heartbeat of Marcus spead up and I rest my hand on his shoulder. "You good?" I ask and he nods but I see the veins under his eyes. "Breathe." I tell him and he closes his eyes before taking a deep breath and they disappear. We walk up to the counter and I give Marcus and encouraging nod. "Look him in the eye." I mutter softly so only he can hear. "Can I have two bourbon on the rocks." He says and glances at me unsurely. "ID." The bartender says boredly and Marcus gives me a defeated look so I step in and make eye contact with the guy. "One bourbon on ice. Please." I flash a tight smile and he starts preparing it so I sit on a barstool. "You need to believe what you're saying...be confident." I tell him and he nods and stands up to try again. The guys slides me my drink. "Excuse.." Marcus tries to get his attention and he does. "ID or nothing." The guy tells him. I look around to make sure no one is paying attention and then I nudge Marcus' side and he clears his throat. "One bourbon on ice." He says and I feel like a proud mom or something oh my god. Number one teacher award goes to me.
