It was a hot, Summer morning in mid July for The Strawhats who were enjoying their day at many different locations.
After landing on a remotely touristic, suburban Island with local residents who peacefully inhabited it, everyone went their separate ways.
Some of Luffy's crewmates went to the beach to cool down, whereas a few others decided to visit the town's famous landmark.
Roaming around the city's streets was Zoro, who was walking beside his Captain.
"I still don't understand whyyyyy." The younger broke his silence to complain at his first mate, tugging at the man's waist.
"What don't you get?"
"Everyone else is either at the beach eating ice cream, or doing something fun. Why are YOU headed to the Gym of all places!" His continuous whining was beginning to annoy the Swordsman.
He shook Luffy off of him, walking ahead of him, only to watch him follow right afterwards. There was no way for him to part ways with the younger male.
"Quiet, you. If you hate it so much, why didn't you just stay with them over there then?" This answer made Luffy feel even less motivated in continuing his journey of walking beside the man.
"Who else would I hang out with?
Nami's swimming.
Chopper went out to buy cotton candy.
Franky started twerking to the music there with his mankini-"
"TMI!" Zoro cut in, playfully punching Luffy's shoulder.
"What about curly browed dumbass." He asked in reference to their friendly Cook, Sanji... Who was nice to everyone else except Zoro.
This reason being because of their different lifestyles and personalities that often clashed and caused trouble for the two stubborn men.
"Oh, Sanji? He fainted."
"How come?" Though he wasn't interested in what had happened to the Cook, Zoro was still curious about why he had passed out.
"Not sure, I was already following behind you by the time I saw him flat on the sand. I think it was because he saw Nami and Robin in their bathing suits."
"Hmm, that sounds like a pretty accurate reason... But how can you be so sure?" Luffy nodded at the man, offering him more information with added details, based off on what he saw.
"The water turned red when his nose started bleeding, then a huuuuuuge tide took him into the Ocean and made him choke."
"Choke? That fool drowned? I could expect it from you, but not him." Zoro laughed.
"Nah, the tide brought him to a group of girls and he ended up staying with them." Having said that, Luffy looked ahead of where he was going, viewing the distracting tarps that were set out in the middle of the sandy streets.
Beneath each separate tarp there was a food stand set up with delicious smelling, fattening recipes that drove Luffy wild, not to mention the amount of fried foods that were waiting to be bought by him.
"Hmm, fair enough. But what about Brook and Usopp? You could hang out with them too, you know." His first mate suggested, strutting down an alleyway with confidence.
"B-but they weren't even paying attention to me."
"And what makes you think I am?" Luffy looked over at Zoro who had a stone-cold expression on his face that lasted long enough for him to worry the young man.
Seconds later, he smirked at him while Luffy punched his arm.
"Don't scare me like that!"
"What were you scared of? I'm not a monster." Said the older man in his defense to the words his Captain just told him.
"By the way, where are we?" He added, his question remaining unanswered by the younger who was still going off on him.
"B...being lonely." Luffy admitted, holding his head down at the Swordsman's bare footed feet.
"Lonely? What the hell are you talking about? The beach has more people than fishes in the damn Ocean!" Zoro savagely responded.
"BUT IT DOESN'T HAVE YOU." Out of frustration, the boy allowed his secret to be known by the man he had been hiding it from: Zoro himself.
The handsome Swordsman was rather pleased to hear those words seep out of his Captain's mouth, in a way, it made him feel special.
"That's the first time I've ever felt wanted... And not by the Marines, for once!" He jokingly spoke back to Luffy, watching as the boy attempted to rephrase himself.
"Of course I need you! What if I drown? Everyone else is distracted, you're the only one who's never doing anything unless it's sleeping or working out."
Zoro took the end of his sword and smacked Luffy on the head with it, watching a red lump start to grow over his straw hat.
"HYA!!" Luffy let out a scream, rubbing the bumps on his head while looking behind him to see that Zoro had lead him to a dead end.
"Hey, where are we?"
"I asked myself that five minutes ago... Turns out that asking yourself where you are won't teleport you to where you need to be." Luffy held his stomach, feeling it bounce as he laughed at what his first mate said.
"Let's go back and eat some foooood!!" The boy ran back to where he had last spotted the food stands, getting Zoro to follow behind him, before taking an unexpected wrong turn.
"Oi, Luffy! I found it, let's go."
"The one time I want him to get lost, AND HE ENDS UP FINDING THE LOCATION! Fiddle sticks..."
