People from all around gym were giving Buggy and Luffy strange looks of fear, confusion, and suppressed laughter while they grew distracted from their own activities to pay attention to what the odd duo was up to.
Currently, it was Luffy's turn to get Buggy back for the prank he had pulled on him earlier, so as revenge, he demanded a rematch.
"I'm starting to have fun now, nishishi! But THIS time-" Buggy was puzzled for a moment, wondering why the younger had gone silent.
"SPEAK, WHAT IS IT?" The impatient pirate shouted. Luffy's eyes landed on Zoro who had looked over at him and casually gave him a wink as if it wouldn't have an effect on his heart.
He held his chest with caution, gulping momentarily.
"Hey hey hey! Am I a painting, or something?!" Buggy asked, growing tired of the unexpected silent treatment Luffy was giving him.
Even for a foe, Buggy couldn't stand being left on a cliffhanger under any circumstances.
"Painting? Well... Your face kinda looks like one, but- PFPFRFPRFPF!" The younger started to choke as Buggy gripped onto his neck.
"B-b....bugg...y..."
~Meanwhile~
The spunky music was rather pleasing to the ears of those in need of motivation to continue pushing forward with their workouts, but not Zoro.
Contrary to that; The music was actually a distraction for him. But it wasn't loud enough to become a complete disturbance, so he let it be.
His abs contracted as the man engaged his core, doing sit-ups on the ground. He had his eyes closed to maintain focus on what needed to be done.
However, an alarming sound that overlapped the music that was playing next to him, caused Zoro distress.
"...PISTOL!" Buggy flew right above the treadmills, landing onto a different machine that was located closer to where Zoro was.
Seeing him made the man's patience run thin, while he began to get annoyed by the two immature men who were still fighting.
When looking back, the first person Zoro initially intended on seeing was Buggy, but he ended up looking over at Luffy.
The boy's straw hat had fallen off when he bend over to his knees, appearing to be out of air. This made the older man chuckle while he walked over to him.
"So, who won?" He teased, unaware of what Buggy had done to provoke Luffy. The younger gently tilted his head to meet Zoro's face, still coughing for air.
Zoro gasped out of nowhere, grunting lowly at the visible hand prints left around Luffy's neck from where Buggy last gripped onto.
When being asked about said markings, Luffy told the older man why they were imprinted on his neck... And exactly who had made them.
Not long afterwards, the mischievous evil-doer himself reappeared with no knowledge about the situation he was in.
"Buggy," Zoro's voice was low, but his fists were held high, hidden behind his back while Luffy looked over at Buggy.
"If you guess what's in my left hand, I'll give you a map that Shanks had given to Luffy." Immediately, the clown pirate jumped up with excitement.
"HELL TO THE YEAH, lemme see! Lemme see!" Zoro held his left hand out, keeping the right one behind him.
"Hmm... A gold coin?" Buggy asked, to which the other shook his head in denial.
"Try again." At his second attempt, Buggy gave his answer some thought.
"Is it.. Paper?"
"No, it's rock." In addition to his clever response, Zoro swung his clenched fist at Buggy's face, leaving him with a large bruise on one of his eyes.
Unable to comprehend what had just happened to him, and while remaining clueless, Zoro took this opportunity to fool Buggy again.
"The real prize is in my other hand, you want it?"
"IF YOU THINK I'M FALLING FOR THAT AGAIN-"
"Ooooooh!!! Zoro, don't... I want this." Luffy's voice grew whining when Zoro opened his hand in secret, showing Luffy something that earned Buggy's attention.
The look on Luffy's face was just as promising as his joyful voice. The amount of mystery thrilled Buggy to his knees as he begged Zoro to show him too.
"You sure? I'm not sure you're gonna want this." He insisted, using his reverse psychology against the simpler minded man.
"I DO WANT IT!" Zoro nodded, releasing his right fist at the speed of light, slamming Buggy onto one of the treadmills.
All eyes were on him as he had drawn the attention of many regular people. To that, he had only one answer.
"Well, he wanted it."
Grabbing onto Luffy's hand, they walked away from Buggy as well as the rest of the crowd, who went back to their activities while Zoro guided the younger to a bench.
"I'm gonna keep working out here, what about you?" Pressing his back against the body-solid machine, Zoro reached onto the barbell, lifting it up with the weights it had.
This movement and the position he was lying on lead Luffy's eyes to unintentionally aim down at the Swordsman's shorts.
"Huh, Luffy?" Repeating his old, unanswered question, Zoro managed to get ahold of his Captain's attention.
"Yes, I do."
