"Mmm!!!"
"Can you... Eat them without making those noises?" Zoro felt flustered with secondhand embarrassment from his Captain.
"These bananas are so good! How'd you find them?" Luffy asked, continuously downing a near handful of the bananas Zoro had fetched for them.
"There was this convenience store nearby, reeeeally easy to get these in." The sarcasm in his speech was completely missed by Luffy who genuinely believed his first mate.
"Ooooh, what did you pay with? We don't have a dime with us... Don't tell me you traded one of your swords for these!" Luffy asked with slight guilt.
"THERE IS NO SUCH STORE. I CLIMBED UP A TREE FOR THESE, YOU CURLY HEADED DINGBAT." Zoro shouted, angrily stuffing his cheeks with bananas.
"DINGBAT YOUR GRANDMOTHER, YOU SEXY SAMURAI!" Luffy shouted back, throwing a banana peel at the man who flung it back at him.
"I've never even met my grandmother, so NOT AN INSULT, BI- What... Did you call me? H-haha! Hey, don't stuff your face in the sand," he looked over at the boy who was now digging his face deep within his own hands, hiding behind a pile of sand.
"Way to go, Luffy... ''Sexy Samurai", of ALL things." His body was turned over by Zoro who was mesmerising the boy with his appearance.
"Still hungry? I spotted some coconuts nearby, I could chop us a few down from the palm trees." He suggested.
Luffy hated to see how calm and composed Zoro could be around him, even when being unintentionally complimented by his Captain.
His ongoing battle of wanting to profess his love to the man was ever-growing for Luffy, along with the love he felt for him. Yet many things held him back.
The first being the fact that he didn't know if his feelings were mutual and would be returned in the end, and so many more things that followed.
"Y-yeah! That'd be a great breakfast." He felt a pounding against his chest, the moment Zoro held his hand to help him get back up, but he ignored all type of emotions for his own good.
"Alright, follow me then. It's pretty close, but I know you don't trust me in being on my own, so, I hope you don't mind being with me for awhile." Luffy brushed the sand off of him, standing up.
But his tracks were stopped when Zoro turned back around, apologizing along the way.
"Zoro? Why are we- O...ow.."
"That's why. I'm sorry, I forgot that you were injured." Luffy looked down at his feet, mentally swearing at himself.
"No no, we can go. Really!" He insisted, making joyful facial expressions to mask the bothersome pain he felt beneath his feet.
Having convinced the older man, Zoro allowed Luffy to tag along with him, if and when he promised to notify him whenever he felt any form of discomfort during their journey.
"We made it, that's a relief." He sighed, looking up at the tall palm trees that had fewer coconuts than he expected they would.
"Let's stack up on a few, we're still not sure how many days we'll be here for." Luffy nodded, parting ways with the man so that they each had a palm tree to interrogate in search of coconuts loaded with water.
Since the two were in desperate need of electrolytes to help them regain the energy they lost during their rough landing there, the duo set a goal of collecting as many coconuts as they could.
"YOSH!! My feet might not be in the best condition, but my hands work perfectly fine. Gum-gum no..."
~Meanwhile~
Near the palm tree Luffy was using to collect his coconuts, was his first mate who had a confident smirk on his face.
"This should be easy. I'll just recreate the same thing I did yesterday." Placing his special sword within his mouth, Zoro swiftly swung at the palm tree after climbing it, knocking down quite a few leaves along the way.
After safely coming back down from the tropical tree, the man brushed himself off while letting the coconuts cascade down and onto a basket he had strapped around his back.
1, 2, 3, 4... Five coconuts in, and WHAM! One of them ended their destination by landing on top of Zoro's head, leading the smile on his face to fade into an undeniably laughable expression of pain and shock.
He rubbed his head, continuing to collect coconuts when he accidentally went too hard on the palm tree the third time he attempted to get coconuts to fall off of it.
The amount of force he used when swinging at it was catastrophic enough to cause an avalanche of coconuts to rain down over him.
"Hey, what's that sound?"

An hour or more after splitting up, Zoro and Luffy were united again, each carrying a large stack of coconuts in their arms.
"ZORO? What happened there?" Luffy asked, pointing at a mountain of pink and reddish bumps the man had stacked on his head.
"I got hit with a few too many of these coconuts." He admitted.
"Coconuts? Do they cause that much harm?! B-but they're so tiny and soft, see? And they're loaded with water too." Luffy showed off how small his brown coconuts were, shaking them.
When Zoro looked back at his coconuts, he realized how different they were compared to Luffy's.
"Would ya' look at that, while you were collecting the small 'brown' ones.. These green bitches that nearly cracked my damn skull- QUIET. I don't wanna hear it!" Luffy had tears profiling out from his eyes out of his own laughter.
But soon... That laughter went away when he felt something scrape his feet underneath him. When watching him hunch over, Zoro laughed.
"Karma works fast here, doesn't it, limpy?"
"A new nickname? Ah... Ahaha.." Luffy tried his best to continue walking, but his aching feet couldn't bare the pain.
"Where are your sandals? Do I have to keep on reminding you to wear them?" Zoro asked, noticing that the younger was bare footed again.
Lowering his head with shame, Luffy pouted at the ground.
"Erm... About that- Woaaah!!" His mouth hung open when being carried on Zoro's back while the older man held both of the baskets in his freed hands, walking back to their cave.
"Wow, you made it back twice in a row already." The younger grinned, referring to Zoro finding his way back to the cave even an ant would be able to see from far away.
"Zip it, Limpy." The man grinned back at him, kneeling down to place the baskets near the campfire he had made earlier.
When placing Luffy down, something about the way he was hovered above the boy had completely caught his attention.
Was it his sunkist skin? His Herculean figure? Or perhaps it was the distance his lips were from Luffy's face.
No matter the cause, Luffy couldn't keep that image out of his mind for the rest of the day afterwards.
"So close yet so far... Maybe being stranded on this Island with Zoro isn't so bad after all."
