The demon looked down at me with a face of pure rage. But something made her turn from me and try to run. I stopped wondering why. Why is she so reluctant. I held my sword down and jumped on the roof to go after her. Of course tanjiro safety was on my mind. But all these past months of watching the three get stronger and fight their own demons I know they are capable of handling themselves and don't need my baby sitting. I ran with the wind and caught up to her holding her leg. She looked at me shocked but the sound of the wind moving and the feeling of my body being hot stopped me from a potential fatal attack. I looked down to my hand holding her now decapitated leg and my face in tanjiros chest. I blushed when I looked up

" tanjiro..."

" a life that's lost can never return.. it's gone forever."

Tanjiro looked to the demon and kept a stern eye contact. I looked to tanjiro now out of my shock, then saw blood like tears coming out of his eyes. I looked down to the leg and dropped it and then backed off

" .. hey-"

He was hyper focused on her. I couldn't get his attention. Yet it seems he has something to say. while he talked I tried to watch for some hostile signs from the demon.

" a demons body isn't made of human flesh. Why do you steal from human lives?? Why do you ruin them?"

I could tell the demon was distraught by what he said. Wait, no... this isn't distraught. This is confusion and annoyance. I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard the roof titles break.

" blah blah blah.. do you ever stop prattling?! I don't remember such things. The past is the past. I'm a demon now, that's all that matters!
We don't get old. We don't need money to eat. We don't get sick... and we never die. We never lose anything!"

The demon got too prideful and it was pissing me off, same with tanjiro.

" we never fade- we are eternally young and beautiful! And we're strong! Demons can do anything we want!"

Before I could have a word tanjiro beat me too it

" even so.. I've heard enough."

In a beat He boomed ahead and I gasped

" so fast-"

I followed just as fast if not even faster, I looked up when I saw the obis above up. I was gonna use my form but stopped when I suddenly couldn't breathe my eyes widened and I felt everything burn. I looked around when I saw I was in a coil of fire. The air gone. There was no wind. It was all used to fuel this fire. So when I used my breath I was stunned.
The cut on my shoulder and arm wasn't as bad as I thought. The muscles was damaged but the arm was functional. When I was able to get my ground again I saw tanjiro taking on the demon. It was amazing. Fire. Speed. And the fact that tanjiro almost cut off her head. I couldn't believe it. I stood there shocked then tsked while I held my sword, that was too easy..
I started to realize why I wasn't afraid of her. Something seemed off..
it was almost like. She's not that strong for a upper rank...  when I saw tanjiro collapsed and the sound of desperate Air intake was heard I ran to him

" tanjiro!"

I held him and swiped at her with my sword making her back off but her feet were already cut. When she landed she stumbled and fell

" the hell!!"

When she looked back up To me and I held tanjiro and narrowed my eyes

" I thought so.. you're weak.."

" huh!?"

She growled and grew her legs back and stood up. I narrowed my eyes and then said

" where is the upper rank!"
