After Brook left, Taitu took a shower before heading to bed. Wrapped in her duvet, she scrolled through her phone before a call from Elijah appeared on her screen. Pressing green she placed the phone on loudspeaker as she lay down.

"Are you in your room?" He asked before she could speak,

"Yeah, wait why? "

"Come to the balcony," He said. Taitu leapt out of her bed and ran to the balcony. The brunette stood in her garden looking up with a concerned look.

"How did you know where my room was? And you remembered where I lived?" She spoke in shock. "I just have a good memory," a faint smile etched across his face at the sound of her disbelief. His eyes twinkled in the moonlight as he looked up at her. The tense feeling in his chest faded once he saw that she was safe.

"After hearing what happened on the other line, I had to make sure you're okay. I cut my trip short, I had to see you," he spoke through the phone not breaking her gaze. Her heart sank deep into her chest at the sweet gesture Elijah made.

"Come up then," She smiled and with no hesitation, Elijah climbed his way to the top and finally reached her balcony. She watched in awe as he pulled himself up. It was not long before he reached the top and swung his leg over the barrier before walking up to her. Soon she was engulfed in his strong warm embrace with a kiss planted on her head. Her eyes closed at the faint musk scent radiating from his chest and the gentle strokes that glided down her back. He laid his head on top of hers embracing her in his arms savoring the moment. "I'm glad you're safe," he whispered in her hair.

"I'm glad you're here," She whispered back. She never realized how much she missed him until now.

"Let's go inside it's pretty cold out here," he said as she withdrew from his embrace. They both walked inside and Elijah shut the doors. He removed his shoes as  Taitu fixed her hair. She wrapped her hair in a bun before turning to the silent boy. He inched closer to her and gently lifted her arm.

"What happened?" He pointed to the bandaged arm, "and don't lie," he spoke before she could.

"It's not that seri-"

"I heard what happened on the other line, were you attacked?" He asked removing the bandage. His eyes sharpened at the sight of the open wounds on her skin.

"It will heal -"

"Tell me...please," he whispered.

"You'll think I'm crazy," She pulled away only for him to grab her hand with reassurance. "Okay, you can sit down you know," She cracked a small smile before the two sat on her bed.

"I was in the bathroom when you called me and then I got attacked by this man with red eyes and really sharp nails," She explained. Reading  his face she felt stupid for even mentioning it, "Yeah I know it sounds crazy,"

"You're not crazy, I'm just processing," He scanned her arm. She felt a wave of reassurance and security at his words and continued.

"I don't know, he didn't look...normal as in he looked possessed! As if-"

"-As  if he wasn't human?"

"Exactly, am I making sense?"

"Don't worry I don't think you're crazy. I think from now on, it's best that I stick by you, just in case anything bad happens."

"Did I get myself a bodyguard now?"  She smirked as he sighed cracking a smile, wrapping his arms around her.

"I'm just protective over the ones that mean a lot to me." The feeling of comfort and peace washed over him as he looked into her eyes, he felt at home. There was so much he wanted to tell her but he held himself back, there was a time and place for those conversations but for now, his priority was her safety. He couldn't bare the thought of something happening to her in his absence again.

"This reminds me," he pulled away and reached into his bag, "because of training, I sometimes get injured, you might want to try this," Taitu watched as he opened the small jar.

"What's in it?"

"Aloe, Calendula, honey, and some other herbs, let me wash my hands," he got up and she directed him to the bathroom. Moments later he came back and grabbed the jar, "can I?" She nodded and he began to rub the dark green paste gently over her wounds. The cold sensation sank into her skin with a slight sting, "sorry," he reacted to her flinch.

"It's alright," she reassured before he took new bandages and wrapped them around her arm.

"There, should be good as new after a few days, " He kissed her cheek.

"Thank you, doctor," she fluttered her eyes playfully as  he grinned, "I really appreciate you doing this, I really do, it means a lot."

"You're welcome beautiful," he replied before his eyes dropped to her lips. He didn't want to create the wrong impression or make any fast movements but the urge to feel her soft lips grew stronger.

She felt the exact same way. She noticed his gaze on her lips. The thought of his soft pink lips on hers made her eager to move closer. Gently grabbing the back of her neck, Elijah pulled Taitu in.

Their breath became one as their lips brushed against one another. Closing the gap, his lips pressed against hers, interlocking. Their lips dance to a rhythm of their own as they moved against each other. His heart sank with the overwhelming feeling and her heart began to beat faster. Their tongues intertwine as the kiss grew with passion and excitement.

Not leaving her lips, he pulled her closer before rolling on top of her. Her hands glided through his soft silky hair pulling him closer, gently stroking his scalp with her nails. He cradled her in his arms as he deepened the kiss. He was not going to let go anytime soon. A pure sense of satisfaction washed over him, he wished he had this moment for life. Taitu was on cloud 9. Sure she kissed a few guys before but this kiss felt different. It wasn't rooted in lust and desire but in endearment, admiration, love, and familiarity. If reincarnation was proven to be real, at that moment, there was no denying that they were past lovers.
