"The grand alliance," it said at the bottom of the painting in Latin. This was just maybe some sort of family legend or myth. No way is my family secretly werewolf hunters or that werewolves even exist. This is real life, not some sort of fantasy novel or movie. But then again, it could explain why my father is acting so secretive and how that girl's eyes were an odd red colour. Could she be a werewolf?

If werewolves do actually exist then wouldn't other supernatural beings exist too? Vampires? Witches? Demons? Mermaids? I noticed the beast had crimson red eyes just like the girl I saw. Could she be one?

Nope.

I'm just getting ahead of myself. There has to be some sort of scientific logical explanation for all of this. I mean I know aliens exist because it is impossible for us to be the only living beings in the entire universe and that government is secretly working with them, but werewolves? Really?

The more I observed the painting, the more chills I got. I checked my phone, it was now six in the evening, I made my way back upstairs and out of my father's office and into my room. Thankfully everyone was in their rooms. I just needed to sleep it off.

I laid on my bed with my mind racing into a slumber as my eyes began to get heavy. My body felt heavier as time went by.

Ever since two days ago I began to be more cautious around my parents. With a secret like that, it is bound that my mother must know and is probably in on it as well. Does Jordan know too?

I huffed once again when my phone went off. I put it on the do not disturb mode. Jordan had gone to a basketball tournament and was out of town for two days, Jonah had gone to sleepover at a friend's house and my father still had work. It was only just my mother and me.

Moments later, the doorbell rang. My name was then called out saying I had company. Rushing downstairs, I was greeted by Brook. "Stop ignoring my calls," she whined as we walked into my room. "God I would kill to have a room like this," her eyes trailed over the beach themed decor. I laughed as I shook my head." So it starts at 8 but people don't get there till 9. It becomes really crowded by 10 and the fun truly starts kicking by 11. So we should probably get there at about 11.30. So it basically starts at 11, so we're going to start pre-drinks at 10," she rambled all in one breath," and I need a drink!" She breathed out.

"Wait, the party is today?" I completely forgot with what everything has gone down. After finding out what my father has been up to I'll definitely need more than one drink. That got her attention real quick as she snapped at me, "How can you forget Tai? It has been the talk of our year for months now."

"Sorry, lost track." I shrugged. Three hours flew by as we caught up; it was now ten. I decided to wear a dark washed high waist jean which was paired with an off the shoulder longed sleeved red crop top along with my white airs. I had taken my braids out a week ago and styled my hair into a low sleek single braid with red clips on either side of my middle part. My sides dangled in loose curls just near the ears.

I looked at Brooklyn to see if she was ready. She wore a high waist baby pink a-line skirt that stopped mid-thigh and a white bandeau crop top. Her hair was in a high ponytail that glided behind her back that she paired with silver hooped earrings.

"What time will you be back?" My mother called out.

"Is it ok if she can stay over at mines, Ms. Lawson. Don't worry I'll take good care of her."My mother looked hesitant between the both of us before finally agreeing. It was a 20-minute drive before we looked for a parking spot. Once we got out, we walked to a two-story house was the front of the house was quiet and still. Some people came out from the stairs that led to the underground. I could hear the faint music base thumping from bellow.
