"HE WHAT!" Shrieks blared from the phone as I eyed the boy who jumped, slamming his hands on his bare thighs. "STAWP IT!" I shouted when Ayana continued to hype Rio, while Toni was laughing. The boy eventually calmed down and proceeded to listen.
"He gave me a ride home to make up what he had done. He has been on my mind ever since and I barely even know the boy," I admitted to the gang during our facetime call.
"MUST BE NICE! " Ayana shouted out, tapping the pen at the camera with each word. I rolled my eyes, failing to hide my smile.
"Awww my baby girl is growing up. You still need to be cautious though. I mean it's only been a day. Give it time for his true colours to show," Toni chuckled. He was so wise for his age. He was like the sensible one, the mother of the group. A complete opposite to Rio who was the crazy one. They truly balanced each other out.
"Focking ell mate! I know. I'll probably gonna ave to avoid him," I replied.
"What's his name puta?" Rio snapped his fingers. "I swear if its one ugly or basic ass name, we will have some issues!" He ranted as I rolled my eyes again for the hundredth time. Rio was a handful. I've known him since the age of nine and he could be quite superficial at times but he was a genuine amazing friend. We've had our ups and downs but there was one thing for sure, we all had each other's backs. He and the others were like the second family.
"Elijah." His name rolled off my tongue.
"AWW that's such a nice name. Elijah. Toni do you hear the sound of that. Elijah! Wooo! God, I want to name one of my sons Elijah." Rio continued to rant.
"Ok OK, that's enough! You lot are acting like I got my self a boyfriend," I waved them off as my eyes drifted off the window.
"Potential man you mean," Ayana wiggled her eyebrows. I laughed once again as we continued to catch up on other things.

It's been two weeks since my first day of school and things have been quite...well the same. The same routine, getting up and going to school, coming back home, eat and sleep. As for Elijah, I haven't seen him either. It was like he ghosted. To be honest, as much as I hated to admit it, I sort of miss him. I just wanted to see him, his face and his beautiful eyes. Feel his presence, be around him. But good things always come to an end and when things seem too good to be true, they usually are.
"See you tomorrow?"
"Always."
To think for a moment that he could possibly like me. He only felt bad about my lunch. But then again, he did hold my hand and the way he looked at me did said a lot. Heck, he even remembered me from the corner store. Whatever, I'm probably reading to much into this. I scolded at my self for overthinking things. This was unnecessary stress. God, I hate having crushes. I tried to push the thoughts of him deep down, as I continued to listen to Brooklyn ranting about some house party that was thrown by the famous Jay Kingsley. "It's in 2 weeks and I have no idea what to wear!" She fisted her dark silky locks.
"You're taking the piss right now, you have so much time plus your wardrobe is filled with clothes. I should be the one complaining."
"Nice clothes Tai! I'm trying to go all out. I only have jeans and tops!"
"Do you even have to go?"
"YES! Jay's parties are one of the best in school. I'm trying to live my best life!"
