Update: I lost the val game

Ollie surged forward, connecting their lips instantly.

No one else could possibly matter.

It was selfish and unloyal and everything Vee stood against. But Ollie's hold was so warm as the brunette wrapped her arm around Vee's back, pulling her impossibly closer, as her other and moved from Vee's face to behind her head, softening the blow as the two collided into the wooden post slightly.

Everything in Ollie softened, there was no malicious form of desire, no ill intent behind her movements. Just the need to hold Vee close, show her everything soft and wonderful that could be in the world. She wanted to tell her old Greek stories while sharing stolen kisses too late into the night. She wanted to rave about her Harry Potter head canons as Vee lay half asleep in her arms, doing her best to listen intently nonetheless.

So as Ollie pressed closer to Vee, desperate for everything she was feeling to be conveyed in her actions, because for once in her life, Molly Montgomery didn't have the words for what she was feeling.

The night was silent, the light ambiance of nature and the slowly moving waves of the nearby lake filling the air which once held the girls light banter and playful jabs.

The obnoxious buzzing of Vee's phone broke through the air, though both simultaneously chose to ignore it. Ollie's hand moving around back to cup Vee's chin, tilting her head up slightly, begging for closeness. She softly stroked the blonde's jaw, touches light with their overwhelming fondness for one another, Vee leaning into the touch.

Vee's hands were still wrapped around the brunette's neck, desperate not to allow herself to think. This wasn't rational, Vee was always rational. Maybe it didn't matter, maybe as the brunette shifted the arm which had previously been wrapped around Vee, to rub and gently soothe her. Maybe rationality was overrated.

Her phone went off again, the sound echoing as it vibrated against the wooden porch.

"You brought your phone out here," Ollie broke away for only a moment to say, voice barely above a whisper before she pressed back in, as if regretting ever leaving the blondes now slightly red lips.

"My bad," Vee managed to get out in between soft kisses, neither wanting to separate long enough to have a proper conversation, "For not predicting this better."

Ollie only hummed in response, taking that as a suitable conversation as she pressed in deeper, gripping Vee's waist for only a moment, just to pull her closer before resuming her soothing touches, as if she could sense the blonde's overthinking.

Her phone went off again, Vee pulling away gently, turning towards the bright device, the only light source in the dead of night.

Ollie didn't push back in, terrified of making the wrong move. Everything about this was new and rushed and vulnerable.

"I should get that," Vee muttered, pressing a chaste kiss to Ollie's lips before sitting up straighter for a moment, grabbing her phone before leaning into Ollie's chest. The brunette immediately reciprocated, arms wrapping around her stomach as Vee rested her head on Ollie's shoulder.

"Tubbo asked how it's doing," Vee muttered, glancing back up at Ollie, "They noticed something was wrong, and frankly I did too."

Ollie huffed out a laugh, pressing a light kiss to Vee's forehead.

"I mean, I'd say it's going quite well," Ollie smirked, Vee only raising her eyebrows at the girl in fake annoyance before bursting into laughter, throwing herself back into Ollie's shoulder. Laughing was easier than figuring out whatever this was.

"We should go back inside," Vee muttered, knowing the second Ollie resisted she'd immediately give in, not wanting to leave in the slightest.

"I hate when you're right," Ollie muttered, pulling apart from the blonde to press a gentle kiss to her lips, however not pulling away when they separated.

"Stop being so damn smart so I can kiss you," Ollie whispered against Vee's lips, the blonde's face going bright red as Ollie smiled to herself smugly, observing the red on the girl's cheeks in the dim lighting before pressing back in.

Only after a few seconds, Ollie pulled away with a sigh, lightly tucking a strand of hair behind the blonde's ear. She quickly stood up, extending a hand to the blonde, pressing a kiss to her knuckles once she had stood up. Acting on her every impulse, knowing the second they step inside they're going to have to pretend this never happened.

"After you m'lady," Ollie smirked, opening the door and following Vee into the cabin.

"Thank you thank you," Vee curtsied slightly, walking backwards into the house to maintain eye contact with the brunette.

The calm before the storm.
