I'm not a monster, this book won't end sadly.

Bittersweet, if you will.

ALSO

For the last chapter, I figured I'd give a quick anecdote from my day today because my ANs from other chapters have come full circle???

I mentioned I was flirting with a Sage in valorant, and now we're friends and they introduced me to his friends and we're all chill.

ANYWAYS, I was talking to one of the people on vc today and we found out we happen to live 15 minutes from each other???

Now I live in a small town so that was like WOAHHH yk???

Anyways, let's go out with a bang, yeah? Last chapter.

"Ollie," Vee breathed out.

Time stopped around the two, and Ollie found any hatred she might have held for the blonde wash away in an instant.

The brunette's beat up converse, adorned with small drawings in sharpie, seemed to echo throughout the airport as the brunette was hyper aware of her own weight which hit the floor, as she rushed towards her once lover.

She swore she hated Vee. Hated her gentle smile even in the worst of situations. The way she always made sure to give Ollie's hand a squeeze everytime the two were in close range, knowing it grounded the brunette.

But Ollie was only so strong, and Vee's embrace was warm and welcoming.

Love was never about just being content, for as Ollie allowed herself to melt into the shorter girl, she became hyper aware of how much pressure she had been putting on herself to be content.

The weight of being "okay" suddenly removed the calm and collected mirage Ollie had been desperately trying to display.

Ollie would never really be okay, but that was her nature. And Vee helped her find the beauty in it.

If Ollie was imperfect and temperamental and in a seemingly never relenting sense of hurt, Vee could be her rock.

Vee showed her the beauty in her flaws.

There was no "calm before the storm", for the two could intertwine. Coexist simultaneously.

The two balanced eachother out, a bond which could never be mimicked, platonic or not.

Vee was calm and rational and hesitant and anxious. Ollie showed her how to trust and, even for just a moment, not be forced to rely on her own instincts.

Vee was the calm and collected and merciful and peaceful.

And Ollie was her ever-loving storm. Waves of anger and pure emotion, emotion Vee had never allowed herself to feel before the brunette.

Maybe they didn't need everything to be okay.

Maybe they didn't need to be content, they didn't need a happily ever after.

Life wasn't a fairytale, though the bond the two shared seemed to come out straight from one.

Life would have ups and downs and yelling and challenges, but they tried and they tried, and eventually they overcame.

And eventually, they could learn to heal. Together.

"Come on," Vee said, obviously attempting to hide a smug smile as she extended a hand to Ollie.

Ollie looked at her skeptically, though she gratefully accepted the blonde's hand, allowing herself to be pulled up, desperate for the contact.

Luvena tugged Ollie towards the door, Ollie laughing at the absurdity of it all as she was tugged along the rocky and uneven sidewalk.
