Silence.
Silence surrounded Jaehyun as he was casually strolling around in his condo, one which used to reverberate with laughter and happiness.
It was a peaceful Sunday. Lying on his bed wearing nothing but a casual black t-shirt and sweatpants.
"Engaged" people feel happy listening to this word but he felt all paradoxical about it. Nothing about his engagement made him feel elated.
Being a 25 year old, but he was still following around the orders of his father.
Exhausted was an understatement. Nothing of this made sense to him. He has always been a good son but was all of that worth his freedom being taken away from him?
The guy whose dimples used to pop out with a genuine smile feel like a lost cause now. Breaking up with Yuri was a decision he regrets awfully.
Yuri was the one keeping him sane during all the ups and downs. She was like the anchor who held him down from fraying away midst of all the insanity. She was younger than him but was far more understanding.
Shuffling around, he opened the drawer beside his bed. It had a small box which held a promise ring with an infinity symbol engraved on it.
Gently, his hand caressed it and all the memories came down crashing. He misses how she would always make sure he was okay, how she raked her fingers through his hair since she knew he loved it, pampering him with crazy skincare stuff, how she would randomly kiss him and say she needed to recharge herself, how he missed lying down on her chest and listening to her heartbeat.
Lying down back on the bed, he stared at the ceiling blankly.
A stray drop of tear rolled down his cheeks as his mind reminisced all the memories they made together.
A gentle scoff escaped his lips as he wiped the tear away. "You were the one who broke her Jaehyun, stop crying like a wimp and accept the fact that she left you because of your own mistakes." he mumbled.
He sat up straight. Eyes wandering around, they landed on a guitar that was lying in a corner.
His legs traipsed towards it. Taking the guitar out of the cover, he tuned it and sat down on the floor facing the window, resting his back against the bed.
Fingers strumming the chords of the instrument, he started humming softly. Jaehyun remembered the song he wrote for her after their breakup.
Words left his mouth like honey.
"It's been a long time since you're gone,
still filled up with the scent of your warmth.
Staring at a blank wall, drawing what's been natural,"He closed his eyes, feeling every lyrics of the song.
"Gets way more vivid when I'm lost.
Just wandering in the crowd where I'm standing,
no matter how much it sways,
Listening to the songs we used to relate.
Nothing will change.
Done, counting down the reasons.
Honestly wanted to say.Nobody else, but I need you to stay,
and any chance it might have been too late, too late.
Could've been obvious, no time to blame.
All I want is having you in my day."Memories flashed in front of his eyes. The smile that once lit up his whole day was now lost.
"The days are emptier without you,
it's just me on my side.
but when my arms around you,
there's nothing else to crave."Her warmth, her scent, he missed it.
"You don't know, you don't know,
I want it this way.
As the leaves fall down I wish it not to snow,
dying for it to come."He remembered how they made a snowman together whenever it snowed. He missed the hot chocolate made by her everytime the temperature dropped down.
"Back in my days, I was used to being all alone,
Sky get's ethereal for the things,
no longer living in chains.
Hours passing by in a minute, mhmm."Tears started welling up in his tired eyes. Voice wavering and lips quivering as he sang further.
"But I need to say,
Nobody else, but I need you to stay.
But any chance it might've been too late, too late
could've been obvious.
No time to blame.
All I want is having you in my day."He broke down. Tears running down rapidly. The memories which were once beautiful, now ached him.
"How am I supposed to marry someone when I'm still in love with you." he mumbled. Crying while breathing heavily.
His head rested back of the bed as he stared at the ceiling. Tears still streaming down his eyes.
"I miss you. I miss you s-so much Yu. If I could, I would've taken back my actions and words in a heartbeat, no questions." he whispered looking back on his mistakes.
Ironic, isn't it? How the once heartbreaker was now all heartbroken.
A/N: Grab your tissues y'all. I'm sobbing.
I felt like explaining Jaehyun's side too so here it it.
