After the little pep talk Yuri had with herself, she was all set to try out a new path in her journey of finding happiness. And here she was searching for a humble abode with Jisung tagging along.
Up till now, Yuri must have went through all of Seoul, yet she couldn't find a place that matched her vibe. She was okay with not finding a fully furnished place, she was even ready to modernize the place all by herself but all she wanted was a place that will make her feel comfortable and at home.
Halfway through the quest, Jisung sat down panting. "Oh my goodness Yuri, just pick a place. Even I'm not that picky with my veggies." He commented with an eyeroll.
Lifting up her sunglasses, she eyed him. "Get up Jwi, just three more places and we'll be done for the day. Stop whining, that's annoying." Yuri convinced the younger.
Exhaling a huff, Jisung stood up with his cheeks puffed out.
"The penthouse which we are going to see now has a really beautiful view but no one actually ever bought it since its interiors aren't complete and people usually prefer fully furnished spaces." The agent interrupted the sibling banter.
The three of them started moving towards the building. Entering the elevator, they waited for the last floor to arrive. A ding from the elevator alerted them that they have reached the top.
"Here, follow me please," the agent said. The siblings did as they were asked.
The agent swiped the key card and a place with a magnificent view welcomed them. Yuri was awestruck with how beautiful the space was. Something about it really appealed Yuri. It was a place she could call as home.
Like an excited bird, she made rounds checking out the place. Jisung skeptically looked around too since the place wasn't furnished and looked abandoned.
"It's beautiful...." Yuri trailed off as she stood near the floor length windows that gave her a view of the city. "This literally feels like an abandoned place and creepy not going to lie." The younger commented.
Yuri rolled her eyes, "And you just had to comment?"
Jisung shrugged his shoulders. "Does this place have a better security?" he asked the agent quickly jumping in the 'protective brother mode'. The man nodded replying, "This place has the best security you will find in Seoul, you have my word on it." He assured.
"We'll take this!" Yuri declared; her voice reverberated in the empty penthouse. "Are you sure? You don't want to check out other places?" Jisung questioned.
"No, this is it. This will be my space." Yuri stood firm by her choice. Turning to the agent, she voiced out, "I will take this place. We'll stick by the price that we offered and nothing more than that since the place isn't furnished."
The agent sighed and nodded his head. "The contract will be prepared and sent to you by tomorrow. How are you going to pay? In a lump-sum or instalments?"
"I will pay in a lump-sum once I go through the contract. Please send the contract to this address." Yuri replied and handed over the visiting card which had her office address.
"Will do ma'am. Shall we leave?" The agent asked.
Yuri nodded her head and started walking towards the door followed by a worn out Jisung.
The feeling of owning a place all to herself gave her a whole different sense of being independent, something which she didn't know she needed until now.
Without wasting much time, signing the deal, Yuri got to the preparation of turning the dead penthouse in a humble abode.
Multitasking was being easy for Yuri. Managing an organization but also keeping up to date with her new house customizations was being done like an expert.
It didn't take much long for her penthouse to get ready. Furniture- done, Electricals- done, cook wares- done, shifting- done too.
Here she was standing at the entrance with Jisung by her side.
"Okay, this looks so cool and cozy," he commented and turned towards Yuri and continued, "You know, please consider me if you're ever looking for a roommate."
Jisung's eyes shone with a twinkle of convincing. An adorable snort escaped Yuri's lips.
"You wish Jwi. I tolerated you enough for the last 21 years and that's enough for me."
Heaving a sigh, he stomped away.
The ambience in the penthouse was warm and so homely.
A self owned humble abode is one thing that every human wishes for and so did the 14-year-old Yuri.
As Yuri stood at the doorstep, her eyes roamed over her newly owned penthouse. She did it.
She could reminisce how she always wanted to do this and now the 14-year-old Yuri was definitely proud of her.
"Now this, this is what I call... a home, my home," she whispered with a proud smile.
