***A/N*** Hey guys!!!!!!!! It's been a minute! If you didn't see my post on my conversation board, I managed to get COVID and was not feeling the best so I took a little break from writing. Good thing is though I had a lot of time to read and ended up reading the entire 'A Court of Thorns and Roses' series in about four days. Anyways, I'm back, feeling a lot better than I have been and I can't wait to write for you all again!
Fair warning, this chapter is sort of all over the place, I wanted to include as much as I could and show that everyone sort of has things going on rather than focusing strictly on one character. I'll be back as soon as I can. Toodles! xx
----------------------------
"Alright big man," I say as I lift Darcy out of his playpen, "Your Uncles and Auntie are going to be here in a little bit and you..." I lift him to my face and take a deep breath, "Smell like the underside of a public toilet."
Darcy giggles and kicks his feet around in the air. He's been walking a bit, nothing compared to Cass and Leah who are running around the Weasley flat like their little lives depend on it. How Violet and George deal with three little gremlins I'll never know.
I put Darcy down on the ground and take his hand in mine, walking him towards the kitchen so I can bathe him in the kitchen sink. Maybe buying a flat that doesn't have an actual bathtub was a bad idea. I forgot babies don't know how to shower.
"Alright bub," I plug the sink and turn on the warm water, adding some bubbles to make it a little more interesting for him, "I need you on your best behaviour okay?"
"But Muuuuuum Uncle Wally said that if I shit myself three times tonight he'll give me a cookie!"
I turn around and Walter is standing in the doorway to my kitchen, leaning against the doorframe with a dopey smile on his face.
"What're you doing here so early. You know that midnight is the only reason we're all getting together," I laugh as Walter pushes himself off the doorframe and comes to give me a hug.
"Lee's anxious about being late to everything," He says giving the top of my head a kiss.
"I'm not anxious!" Lee calls from the other room, "I just want to be here before the Weasleys! They're always on time and it doesn't make a lick of sense!"
"He's anxious," Walter says.
Walter distracted me enough for Darcy to slip out of sight, now giggling with Lee rather than getting in the bath I ran for him.
"Lee?" I call, "Can I have my son back please?"
He laughs and comes in, holding Darcy upside down by one of his feet, "He's a menace," Lee says, "An absolute menace."
I take Darcy from him and he juts out his bottom lip, preparing to scream that he was taken away from his favourite Uncle.
"Please don't," I say to him as I stand him on the counter and strip him of his pyjamas, "Be good for Mummy okay?"
"Why don't you go get dressed and take care of yourself Em," Walter says, "Lee and I can take care of the kid."
"You sure?" I ask, not taking my eye off Darcy so I can make sure that he won't fall off the counter and crack his head on the floor.
"We have to practice," Lee says, "If we want to be the best dads we can be."
I shrug my shoulders and tickle Darcy's tummy, "Uncle Lee and Uncle Walter are going to give you a bath alright?"
