Romanoff's POV

I walk into Stark's office,
"Mr Stark, the reports you asked for?" I say as I place them down on his desk.
"Yes, and the overall class report?" He says, looking up from his monitor.
"It's on the top, will that be all?" I say, ready to leave. He picks up the report and holds his hand up, telling me to wait. He has a quick skim through the overall class report and checks his monitor.
"Your classes average grades are dropping. What's going on, Romanoff?"

Well, honestly...
I'm completely head over heels for a student and she's all I can think about. We live together and I'd rather spend my time with her than figuring out how to actually teach my class effectively.
But obviously, I can't say that.

"There's been a lot of distractions in my class as of recently, I'm working on pulling it back." I say, standing before him like a child nervously talking to an adult.
"You're losing your edge, Romanoff. Figure it out." He says sternly.
"Of course, Mr Stark."

I sigh and turn to walk out,
"Oh, and Romanoff?"
"Yes?" I look over my shoulder at him.
"You haven't done half as much work as you should be, I don't know what you've been doing instead - but get your act together."
I sigh and nod.
"I will." I walk out of his office, taking a deep breath after I close the door. I lean against the wall in relief.

"Professor Romanoff?" I hear. I look, It's Amy.
"Are you okay?" She says.
"I'm fine, I'm fine. Thank you. What are you doing?" I ask,
"I'm looking for Y/N, she left the cafeteria and never came back. I thought she'd be with you."
"No, I last saw her at the staff room." I say, she nods and we both start heading towards the staff room.

Y/N's POV

I'm standing in the staff room across from Professor Maximoff, I was about to leave when she asked to speak with me in private.

"I'm worried." She says, "Did you hear what Natasha said earlier? About her job?"
"I did, yes." I nod,
"I don't know if she was just exaggerating but it really didn't feel like it - you can't let her lose her job, Y/N. She's worked so hard for this." She preaches.

"I don't want her to lose her job either, not over me." I look down, "But I'm not sure what your asking me to do?"
"I don't know." Maximoff shrugs, "I guess I want you to stop encouraging her on campus?"

Encouraging her?
"Look, she knows the risks and she still wants to do it."
Maximoff let's out a sigh.
"Then turn her down." She suggests,
"I don't want to do that." I say, "I love the time we spend together, I don't want to have less of it. I know that's probably selfish-"

"Y/N?" Natasha walks in the door with Amy behind her, "It's not selfish." She says as she walks over to me. Her eyes drift to Wanda and her face holds a stern look.
"What are you doing?"
"Natasha, I'm concerned about you." Maximoff explains,
"Oh. I already got an earful from Stark, save it." Natasha walks over to the couch in the staff room and sits down. She holds her head in her hands and breathes out heavily.

I turn to look at Amy, she shrugs and so I walk over to Natasha and sit down next to her.
"Do you wanna talk about it?" I say softly.
"Everything is messing up... and I don't think I can fix it." She says, still looking down.
I put my arm around her, Maximoff and Amy nod and step out of the room, giving us some privacy.

"What's messing up, Natasha?"
She sighs heavily and looks up, she giggles.
"That's strike 8." She has a small smile on her face, I laugh with her. "Can we talk about it later? I've got this whole thing planned tonight and I just-"
She stands up, I stand up after her and hold her hand.
"We can talk about it whenever you want to. There's no rush."

"Thank you." She says, "I love you."
"I love you more." I respond, instead of retorting like she normally does, she just leans into a kiss. The way she holds me, it seems like she needed this. I can feel as she gets lighter on her feet - like a weights been lifted off her shoulders.

"How many more classes have you got today?"
"Two. Just two more." She says quietly, almost as if she's reminding herself rather than answering my question.
"I'll see you soon, then?" She asks,
"Of course." I smile. She nods and walks out of the staff room. Her and Wanda walk together back to their classrooms, Amy sticks with me.

"Is she alright?" Amy asks,
"We're going to talk about it later." I say fairly bluntly,
"Brad thinks your mad at him." She says, showing me a text from Brad asking if she found me yet.
"I am. None of this would've happened if Brad kept his mouth shut, or if you didn't invite Brad to see us." I sigh, walking away from her.

The rest of the school day is not great.
Every so often, someone asks me about my girlfriend, Natalie, and I have to keep telling them the same things.
"No, you don't know her."
"I met her at work."
"That's none of your business."
Someone even asked if I was a Dom or a Sub.
Yes, Brenda, I'm going to tell you that even though we've never talked before.

The answer is switch, if you must know.

But when I meet Natasha in the parking lot, shes so relieved to see me that she instantly pulls me into a hug.
"You ready to go?" She asks,
"Whenever you are." I smile. She nods, unlocks the car and we both get in.
