Romanoff's POV

I walk into my classroom, wearing a black turtleneck. Amy asked Y/N to go to the bathroom with her so neither of them are here right now. I still don't get why people do that.
Wanda storms into my classroom, she looks upset.
"We need to talk, Natasha."

I turn to her,
"About what?" I ask, she harshly closes the door and walks over to me. "What's going on, Wanda?"
"That's what I'd like to know. Every time it comes to Y/N, you're different. You were crying over her, all freaked out because you thought you hurt her feelings? And then yesterday, you were going to hurt someone for messing with her!"
"I wasn't going to hurt him." I argue, even though I know she's right. In all honestly, I think I was seconds away from choking him.

"Yes, you were. You had that look in your eye! The one you only get when you're angry, and when you're angry, you hurt people." She raises her voice at me.
"It was because he was hurting my students, physically and mentally! They had to live with me because they didn't feel sa-"
"They didn't have to live with you." She steps closer to me, "You said it yourself, they were just going to get a hotel until you offered."

"What's your point, Wanda?" I ask her.
"I don't know! I just want you to tell me what is actually going on with you and Y/N!"

She already knows. How does she know?
She just wants to hear me say it. I wish Y/N was here. I really don't know what to say, and it seems she always does.

"Say it, Nat." Wanda demands, I just stare at her. I can't even think properly. "Natasha, answer me!"
"Wanda, I don't know what you want me to say." I respond, she keeps eye contact with me. I keep looking over to the door to see if Y/N's there, but Wanda keeps getting in the way.

"Tell me what is going on between you and Y/N."
I take a deep breath,
"I just feel bad for her. She had two weeks to move house because of her parents and when she came back to school, she and her friend get harassed by a student that used to be their friend? That's it."
"That's it." She repeats, finally breaking eye contact.

"She called you Natasha." She says quietly,
"When?" I ask.
"Yesterday. You ignored me calling your name. You ignored Amy calling 'Professor', but she says Natasha once and she's got your full attention?" Wanda explains, "Then she whispered something to you."

"I didn't look at her because she said my name. I looked because she touched my shoulder, it has nothing to do with who it was. If you came up to me, I would've looked at you." I defend,
"What did she whisper, Nat?"

At this point, I'm going with a mix of lies and the truth. I can't admit that I love her, but that doesn't mean I can't be supportive of her.

"She told me that she appreciated me defending them, but she didn't want me to lose my job because I did something stupid." I explain, trying to keep calm. Y/N's still not here and to be honest, if she came in now, I think Wanda would know I'm lying.

"And then she punched Jayden for you." Wanda adds,
"She punched Jayden for herself, she punched Jayden for Amy. It had nothing to do with me."
"Fine." Wanda walks towards the door. "I'll see you later."

Y/N's POV

I'm standing outside Natasha's classroom, I can hear her and someone else yelling but I can't tell who.
The door opens up and Professor Maximoff walks out, she quickly looks at me and Amy with a stern face.
"Of course." She says.

She looks down at my neck. Me and Natasha agreed that I didn't have to cover the marks she left, since I was a student and university students are expected to do things like that... and I didn't have any makeup or clothes that would cover them. Of course, she covered hers since teachers have higher expectations.

"Wait here." She demands and walks back into the classroom, she swings the door over but I put my foot into the doorframe, stopping it before it closes.
I peer through the window and watch as Maximoff storms over to Natasha and grabs at her turtleneck.
Fuck.

Natasha manages to push her away.
"What are you doing, Wanda?" She exclaims, rising from her chair.
"Show me your neck." Maximoff demands,
"Why? You know, people actually wear turtlenecks because they like them, not everyone has something to hide."
"Maybe...but you're Natasha Romanoff, you always have something to hide."

What the hell is that supposed to mean?

Maximoff reaches for her again.
"If you've got nothing to hide, you'll show me." Natasha's brows furrow as Maximoff manages to pull the fabric down enough to see her hickey-covered neck.
"Why?" She mutters.

"A student? How could you do that, Natasha?"
Natasha pushes Maximoff away,
"Why do you think a student did this? I told you that I was seeing someone!"
"Oh, is it the same person that left marks on Y/N's neck?" She points to the door. "And you know, I think you'd refrain from having someone over while there's students living in your house!"

"I can't believe you. You slept with a student!"
"She's an adult, Wanda! We're both adults, it's not ille-"
"Did you do anything on school grounds?"
"No." Natasha lies, but she's got a firm look that makes it seem like she's being genuine.
"On school grounds... she's just a student to me." Natasha glances over to me and quickly away.
"Don't lie to me, Natasha. Swear to me that your telling the truth." Maximoff demands, "Or I'll report you and you'll lose your job."
"Wanda..." Natasha says softly, I want to intervene, but that would be a dead giveaway. "I haven't done anything on school grounds."
"And if I get Vis to check the cameras, they'll match up with that story?"

No, she can't lose her job. Not over me.

"No, they won't." Natasha shudders, forced to tell the truth.
"Then I've got to report it or I'll lose my job too." Maximoff turns to walk out.
"Oh please, Wanda!" Natasha responds, anger rippling through the classroom. "Me and you both know I'm not the only one who's had some personal time in our classroom."

Okay...What does that mean?

"That was different!" Maximoff raises her voice, it sounds as though she might cry. They both look like they're going to cry.
"How?" Natasha walks towards her, "How was that any different?"
Professor Maximoff says nothing, she just shakes her head. She takes a deep breath and storms towards the door.
I push into the classroom, followed by Amy, and I lock the door behind me.

"Isn't she your friend?" I shout. Natasha's looking at the ground, her eyes are glassy and she's barely holding herself up.
"She is. But if I don't report it, I'll lose my job."
"That's not how that works! You'll lose your job if you withhold information about this, right?" She nods, "But your boss wouldn't even know that you withheld that information if you don't tell him! It's a trap to scare people into gossiping."

"Get out of my way." She says, I step forward and Amy blocks the door for me.
"If you're really her friend, you'll see that this isn't what you think it is!"
"And what is it, then? If not a teacher and a student fucking?" She raises her voice aggressively.
"It's two adults in love. Don't report this, Maximoff."

Professor Maximoff looks to Amy,
"You knew about this? You let this happen?"
"They told me everything, Professor, I watched them be with each other - i believe that they're in love. I've seen it." Amy defends us, I'm so thankful for that.
She had no reason to defend us, she could've agreed with Maximoff and got Natasha fired in seconds... but she's defending us.

Maximoff looks at Natasha,
"You love her, Nat?"
"Yeah. I really do." Natasha says, Wanda nods and reaches for the door handle. Amy stays in the way, though.
"You won't report her?" I ask.
"I won't report her."

Amy moves away from the door. Instantly, I run over to Natasha. She opens her arms and pulls me into a tight hug, I wrap my arms around her as much as I can. She falls back and I fall with her, onto our knees but still hugging.
"What a way to start a Friday, huh?" She laughs to herself.
"I guess in retrospect, I probably could've worn your clothes to cover my neck." I laugh with her, we both agree and keep hugging.
