Y/N's POV

Natasha and I are laying in bed, spooning next to Audrey. We both suspect it was Grant that left those bruises but we aren't sure what to do. Audrey's phone starts ringing again, its been going off for a while.

"It's been an hour or so, should we wake her?" I whisper, Natasha nods and leans over to gently shake Audrey awake. When Audrey wakes, she turns over to look at her.
"What? Sorry." She says, it sounds almost instinctive.
"Hey, hey, Audrey. It's me, Nat." Natasha says softly, Audrey sits up and looks over.

"Oh." She groans, "I fell asleep? I'm sorry."
"It's alright." I say, sitting up to match them. Natasha and I both look at each other, unsure of how to approach this.
"Grant called." Natasha says, Audrey instantly looks worried.
"Fuck, did you answer?"
"No, we didn't. But he's called a few times."

"Fuck." She groans again. She gets up and finds her underwear on the bed sitting on the side table. She puts on her underwear and asks Natasha to help with her bra. I hand Audrey her phone and she quickly answers.
"Hey, Grant. I'm sorry I-" she seems to be cut off by him on the other side of the phone. She walks out of the room.

Natasha stretched, gets up and follows her, I follow too and start to make some warm drinks for us all, hot chocolate.

"Grant, no! Don't come here! I'll get a taxi or I'll get-"
Audrey sighs as he cuts her off again. Natasha takes the hot chocolate I made over to Audrey and hands it to her. Audrey tries to get another word in but Grant doesn't let her.

She hangs up and throws her phone at the wall, she then looks at Natasha and goes into a panic.
"Fuck! No, I'm sorry!" She quickly exclaims, Natasha signals me over and so I quickly walk over. Audrey pulls us both into a hug.

Natasha leans over and whispers to me,
"I'm gonna make a call or two, could you stay with Audrey?" She asks, I nod and lead Audrey to the couch.
"What are you doing? I don't expect you guys to-"
"Shh, it's okay. We're happy to help." I say reassuringly.

Audrey leans into me,
"I'm sorry I did this." She says, "I did this to get Natasha involved, I didn't know what else to do." She says.
"It's okay, Audrey." I say softly.
"But it's... your first Christmas together and I'm in the way!" She cries out.
"We'll deal with that later, okay?" I say. She nods.

Natasha walks back into the living room with a small box. She walks over and puts it under the Christmas tree by the TV.
"Just one last gift." She says, then she turns to us, "Y/N, you remember that friend I told you about, the necklace one?" She points to her necklace.
"Yeah, I do." I nod, Audrey says nothing.
"He's an officer, I called him, he's on his way."
"But so is Grant!" Audrey says, "He'll get here first!"

"That's okay, we'll hold him off until Clint gets here."
Natasha says, she walks over and hands Audrey some clean clothes, assuming she won't want to wear her dress from last night.

It's a little while of silence before a quick banging starts on the door. Audrey instantly jumps, Natasha signals me to keep Audrey calm. I take Audrey's hand and lead her upstairs.
We walk hastily into the spare bedroom, it's almost completely empty. Natasha doesn't use it and I have no reason too either. She obviously decided that she preferred the room downstairs.

Romanoff's POV

I walk over to the door, taking a quick look out the window shows Grant banging aggressively on it. Knowing Clint, he'll be coming from his house, so by now he should be about 5 or 10 minutes away.

With Grant's continuous banging on the door, I can see it getting weaker. The bolt is shaking more and more with each hit, so I slide the bolt over and pull the door open. Instantly, Grant bursts in.

I grab his shirt and hold my arm against his chest, using the other one on his stomach to keep him back.
"Where is Audrey?!" He yells at me.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" I respond, keeping my footing to hold him from getting any further into the house.

"I know she's here! Let me see her!" His angry tone continues,
"She isn't here! How do you even know where I live?" I question, keeping up my clueless act.
"I know that she's here, Natasha!" He yells.
"Audrey!" he shouts into the house.

He's putting his whole weight on me, even gripping the wall to try push me off him so he can't search the house for her. Though, as long as I keep my footing, he won't get a hand past me.

Y/N's POV

"Audrey!" Grants voice calls out through the house, being muffled through the closed door. She's about to walk over to the door.
"Don't." I plead, she turns to look at me.
"I have too. I'm sorry I got you involved, this is just going to get worse if I don't go." She says,
"No, we're going to help, okay? Natasha's dealing with him, she's got a friend on the way if you just wait a little longer."

"What if he hurts her?" She says. Of course, I've been thinking about it. But Natasha's strong, I know she can handle herself.
"He won't hurt her." I say, trying to reassure myself more than her. She shakes her head.
"I'm just going to go with him, have a good Christmas." She says in a low tone, pulling open the door. As much as I attempt to stop her, she's adamant.

She walks quickly down the stairs towards him.
