handle her tenderly and with the respect she deserves,
find the strength and beauty in her
amongst the awkward and messy,
go down the line and embrace

the sixteen year old cowering before a crowd,
the nineteen year old begging a man to stay,
reassure them all that they are valuable,

salute each year of childhood, every year of adulthood,
because they hold the bones of the woman who bears your name.
