6: Supernatural and Math Tutors

BREE'S POV

'I stood. Frozen. Atop the slick, silvery surface that was as thin as paper, but as elegant and strong as diamonds. It was as cold as ice, but that might've been because it WAS ice.'

I sighed to myself.

"Ugh, that's crap." I groan.

God I suck at English.

It's not even my least favourite subject.

I'm just its least favourite student.

I can never seem to concentrate.

My pen is just about to touch the paper and write my next sentence when something, or should I say someone, outside the door catches my attention.

"You little whore!"

Was that? Jade?

I couldn't make out the next chunk of the conversation, but I swore I could hear a male voice.

Probably whoever Jade was arguing with.

That's when I heard it.

My best friend's voice joining in the argument.

Zoe.

"How could you?! I never want you to speak to me or my friends ever again, you worthless piece of shit!"

And there was nothing more.

I heard two sets of footsteps walking away from my classroom.

Zoe and Jade?

Zoe and whoever the guy was?

I couldn't be sure.

Until I heard the male voice again.

He only said one word, but that's all I needed to hear to determine who it was.

It was Tyler.

And that one word.

Was fuck.

ZOE'S POV

I can't believe him.

I can't believe he would do something like that.

I thought Tyler was my friend.

I thought wrong.

No wonder Jade stopped talking to me.

Those rumours are horrible.

I just wish I had've found out sooner that it was Tyler.

Maybe I could've done something.

'Don't be stupid. It's not your fault.' I try to convince myself.

All I need to do now is talk to Bree.

The bell signalling the end of the period rang and I headed to our table.

After our little ordeal with Tyler, Jade and I had sat on the back field, catching up I suppose.

We talked about the last 4 months, as if the reason we weren't talking was because we simply hadn't seen each other, rather than we'd been ignoring each other.

We talked about Heather.

She told me how she had tried to deal with it by harming herself, but realised it wouldn't bring her back.

The only thing we didn't discuss was the matter of her and Luke.

I thought I'd give her time to sort that out herself.
