Chapter 23: Perfect Day

"New report!" I shouted as I saw Tae Suk, our team leader, about to leave from his desk.

I quickly slammed the envelopes to his table while I slowly guided him to sit.

"You arrive when I'm about to off while all riled up about a new report?" He angrily asked as he opened the envelopes.

"Don't you like that? Extra pay! And by the way, Wrong! It's not just any report, it's a very interesting one!" I beamed while he just rolled his eyes and read the files I just gave him.

After a while he stood up looking all shocked while pointing at the file.

"Where did you get these?!" He asked with his voice shaking.

"Why? Is it something really really bad?" I asked worriedly.

"Nope, but it's something really really intresting! Now these are some very dirty works and they got to escape it with one of their members and their additional wealth by killing their victims and by tampering their lets say 'last will and testaments' but it also says here that they're very close friends. Hmm this needs further investigation" he said while flipping eagerly through the pages.

"Great! When can we start?" I asked "Tomorrow. Now we can leave. No buts and no what if's, this will be done tomorrow" he said full of authority and left.

Now how am I going to explain this to Yeon and the others? That I need to come to work and won't be able to stay 24/7 with them.

This is sad and at the same time exciting! I can finally come back to work!

Before Tae Suk could leave the room the door suddenly flung open and Jae-Rin came out followed by Suho, she pushed Tae Suk back to his seat and stared blankly at him.

"Ya Nam Ji Ah! I understand that you're excited about this report since it's really juicy and all but if I say we need to do it tomorrow, what I mean is that we really need to do it now! No need to bring her and scare me to death, I was just opening the door to call the two others to you know work together with us since we're a team, hehe" He said laughing nervously as he looks at Jae-Rin

"Don't you like overtime? I mean with the extra pay" Jae-Rin said.

"Oh yes I love overtimes, it's just that I promised my wife I'm coming home early to you know have dinner and all" he explained.

"No need for your dinners, everyone's invited to Blacky's birthday dinner. Your wife is cooking the food while the two love birds in your team are helping Yeon and the others with the preparation and I.. just want to make sure that this report will happen" Jae-Rin said

"Really we're invited? Where is that Birthday dinner you say?" Tae Suk asked but Jae-Rin just smiled and tapped the envelopes making him quickly make a short report.

"Impress me and I'll set you free with a little bonus to cheer you up but if you flunk this I wouldn't mind explaining to everyone the reason why we couldn't go" Jae-Rin threatened making him get into work seriously.

I guess this dinner will be extravagant since everyone is part of the preparation committee.

The short report Tae Suk made impressed Jae-Rin so now he, Suho, Jae-Rin and I are in the car on our way to the venue of the party.

"This road looks familiar" Tae Suk said making me realize where we are, the car stopped in front of the very familiar gate.

The gate opened presenting the view of the house where Imoogi used to stay, this is the house of our former member Teri and our former CEO.

Just great, this place gives me the creeps but now it doesn't, maybe because everyone is happily lined up in front of the house while holding a very beautiful banner saying Happy Birthday Suho.

"Why did you choose this place" I asked as soon as Suho and Tae Suk left the car.

"We can't stay at Granny's place forever, this place is closer to Blacky's school, and Anastasia have a whole garden to roam around versus when the dog's at Shinju's clinic" She explained and for every reason she raises her finger.

"Okay but this is where Yuri stayed when Imoogi kidnapped her and basically this place is really creepy to everyone" I tried to reason out.

"Yuri's the one who suggested this place since she said it's very spacious and has a great garden and everyone agreed, well except for you" she irritatingly said

"Sorry" I apologized so that I wouldn't ruin her mood at the party.

"Happy Birthday~ to you~" all of us sang

"Make a wish before you blow the candle" Yuri said as Shinju closered Suho his Birthday cake.

Suho closed his eyes and blew the candles.

All of us sat down to eat but before anyone could get the food they want Minho and Hyunjin's hands collided as they tried to reach for the chicken leg and they had a mini fight.

"Ya!" With only one word from Jae-Rin the two stopped.

"You immature foxes can't you see this is a special day and you're ruining it?! Stop this nonsense for once, just for once, stop acting like you haven't eaten chicken leg! Where in fact you two eat it everyday!" IN complained.

Everyone was shocked with IN's sudden outburst that up until now everyone is still looking at him.

It really is dangerous when a calm person goes mad "Okay let's eat!" Hye Ja said.

"IN Hyung that was so cool! You definitely deserve this chicken leg!" Suho said while handing the chicken leg Minho and Hyunjin fought against.

I can't blame them though, chicken leg is really delicious. But I can completely proudly say that literally nothing can ruin this day, this day as we celebrate the only child in our family's special day, this day that we are all laughing especially Jae-Rin, this day where we are not thinking about our opponents and missions, this day where we are complete. Nothing can beat this day.

This is a Perfect Day.

Shinju's POV:
Everything is perfect, Suho's happy, everyone's happy, everything's great until I smelled some uninvited and unexpected guests.

I quickly excused myself to use the washroom, great thing Jae-Rin bought the house already without no one giving us a tour to this place, that way they wouldn't get confused if I'd get lost.

I followed where their smell was and found myself in the kitchen and I saw the two foxes who got caught in the building where Ji Ah worked.
