Chapter 12

Siren clenched her fist in anger and felt her sharp nails scraping through her soft hand. Her frightened mood was suddenly replaced by fury. She had enough of feeling fragile and weak, she needed to be strong enough to protect her family and friends. Her memories were already fading away and thoughts of Aiden were slowly forgotten. She needed to do something before her memories were taken.

Siren suddenly winced in pain and rubbed her sore hand. "Maybe, I could," Siren whispered to herself as she thought of an idea. She wrote on her arms using her sharp fingernails, feeling the sharp pain as she slowly moved her hand. It took many attempts before she could write a letter and tried her best to hide the muffled screams bursting out of her. Tearing out a small cloth from her shirt she quickly placed it on her mouth as she bit it to silence her cries.

When she was done she patted gently to feel the scratched letters written on her arms. She grimaced as she felt the short stinging pain. Siren bit her nails, tasting the repelling flavour of blood. She smiled. Finally she was done.

A sudden quake broke Siren's smile. She quickly looked for something to hold unto but before she could, she felt the familiar drowsiness overwhelming her. Slowly, she fell down on the cold cemented floor. She couldn't fight the exhaustion surrounding her so she closed her eyes and let herself fall into unconsciousness however this time she couldn't dream.

Siren awoken by the soft touch of the grass caressing her arms and feet soothingly. She grunted as she felt the sudden pain piercing through her head. Slowly she sat up and felt the cold however warm wind brushing through her. Rubbing her eyes to clear away the blurred sight, she stared in awe at the beautiful place surrounding her.

There was a grass field below and was full of towering trees that brimmed with colourful fruits. The blue sky above her made Siren feel at peace in spite of the fear growing inside her, she felt an odd pinch at the bottom of her stomach. It was weird for the trees to look exactly alike and the blue sky filled with nothing not even a hint of clouds in sight. The breeze was confusingly warm but cold and the grass felt unusual on her bare feet.

She walked steadily towards the towering trees and crouched to touch the rough dried roots. It was almost like her dream world Magnificent but not quite. Suddenly she heard a soft grunt coming from behind the tree. She peered behind it and saw a tall boy who lay down the soft grass below. Siren went towards him and gazed at the boys features. He had long hair that was left untrimmed and had sun kissed skin despite the peculiar weather. His face was chiseled into a perfect figure however was covered with dark round bruises.

"Ugh," The odd boy grimaced. Slowly he got up to rub his sore temples, his eyes shut tight in pain. Alarmed, Siren quickly moved behind the tree still peaking at the boy behind it. The boy however stood in front of the tree, his eyes moved in curiosity as he touched a nearby branch above him. Siren stared in wonder for the boy's hazel brown eyes was filled with amazement.

Suddenly a small branch fell above Siren, almost hitting her as if it wanted her to be discovered. Swiftly she moved away from the falling branch and got hit by the rough ground below. She grunted as she slowly sat up to rub her scraped knee, almost forgetting that there was a boy in front of her.
