Stars (AeMona)

"Farewell Mona. May the stars guide us to meet once more."

       
That was what he said when Aether left Mona, in search for his sister. She understands that he needs to find his sister, but she wished that he could stay by her side.

She truly enjoyed his company, he was a good student and a good friend. But sometimes she wishes that friendship turned to something more...

      
It was another day without Aether, and she decided to eat over at Good Hunter. As she was eating, someone sat down on the chair in front of her. It was Amber, another friend of Aether that she became friends with recently. She was carrying a plate with a Fisherman's Toast.

"Hello Mona! How are you doing?" Amber asks as she sits down.

"Hello Amber. I'm doing fine..."

Amber wasn't convinced, and said "Are you still sad about his departure?"

"Maybe...."

"He told you that he would come back didn't he? I know he keeps his promises. I bet he misses you too." Amber said, optimistically.

That was something she truly was fascinated by. She truly was meddlesome, but her friendliness and optimism makes her really enjoy her company.

"I hope so..."

     
"I definitely did."

Once she heard that, she was surprised. She didn't know where it came from, but that was definitely Aether's voice. She began frantically looking around, hoping to find the source of the voice.

"I'm right here, Mona."

There he was, she saw him on the roof of one of the houses. He jumped down from the roof and stood up, greeting her with the same smile she missed.

    
"Aether...? Is that you...? Are you real...?" Mona said while walking towards him.

"Last I checked, yes." Aether said while shrugging.

She couldn't believe it, but it's him. The same Aether she missed, she quickly tackled him in a hug, afraid that he would leave again. He was surprised, but quickly hugged her back.

"You missed me that much?"

"Shut up." Mona said, hugging him tighter.

      
He let her hug him for a bit longer, and saw Amber staring at them, a smile on her face. He flashed her a thumbs up and a silent thank you. She waved at him, and ran out of Mondstadt, probably to give them some space.

"Are you going to let go now?"

"Just 5 more minutes."

     

She ended up clinging to him for 10 minutes, and when she was satisfied, they took a seat on one of the tables.

"Have you found your sister yet?" Mona asked, while eating her salad.

"No... Not yet. My next stop is Inazuma."

"Oh really, when are you leaving?"

"Tomorrow."

"Oh... Why are you here then?"

"I'll be gone for a lot longer once i leave, so i decided to visit you. I missed you, you know." Aether said, his face looking down.

"I missed you too... I don't want you to leave me again..." Mona thought to herself. She was going to find a way to stay with Aether. She doesn't want to stop his journey, but she wants to be with him.
