Holy sh*t it's been so long since I've written for this pair.
__________
No matter how far the distance, it can always be closed. No matter the difference in beliefs, it can always lead to an understanding. No matter the personal struggles, you can always be the remedy for each other. These are the things that cause separation, and they all have a solution, or a way to come back.
The only thing that you cannot come back to... Is death.
Death. A concept that wasn't foreign to her. The fine line between reality and the realm above. The final thing separating two people from one another. She's experienced so much of it, that some think she's become numb to the feeling of loss.
Oh, how wrong everyone is.
No sane person can ever become numb to the feeling of loss. Her line of work is the only reason people think so. She has to put up a brave and positive face to ease her clients.
Not this time. This one, she just couldn't hold back. Why, though? Why was this one so much painful than the others? Well, it was simply because this person was oh so much more important to her. For he would always be there in her darkest times. He was her one and only, and she's made oh so many memories with him.
It's just a shame that she can't make any more.
The sky was painted with an orange hue, and the fallen leaves are dancing to the wind as she stands in front of her dead Chongyun. To the passerby's, she has probably been sitting next to her grave for less than a few minutes. To her, it felt like even an eternity or two had already passed. Tears were still falling out of her eyes, she almost wonders how she can even produce this much.
Yes, she understands. This very same thing will happen to her soon, and she shouldn't be sad. In fact, she doesn't even know why it's crying. Perhaps it's... Fear?
Ah, it makes sense then to her. She's scared. After all, the only thing more brittle than life, are memories. You can live more than a thousand years, and still have some life in you. Yet, a memory can disintegrate in mere seconds, or even in the blink of an eye. The thought terrifies her. The moment she leaves his grave behind, everything that she has done with him could end up becoming nothing more than a distant memory.
Yet, should she really be afraid of that?
After all, she couldn't possibly live her life in fear. She needs to live life to the fullest with what little time she has left. That was when a sudden realization struck her.
"The bonds and memories that you create in the real world, are the only things you can bring to the next one."
Of course! How could such a simple conclusion be so hard to reach?! Even if she forgets the joyous things she's experienced with him, those feelings will never go away. They would always continue to live with her, and perhaps somewhere in the next world.
Comforted by the thought, the fallen tears and the saddened face was now replaced with a soft smile. With that, she whispers her final goodbye.
"I hope you're watching me Chongyun, because I'm gonna be live my life to the fullest! You better not get jealous if you're watching me, okay? I'm gonna tell you all about it when me meet again soon."
She finally stands up, after what feels like eons.
"I'll see you soon Chongyun! I hope we get to meet again in the next life. Maybe even as lovers again...."
With that, she walks away. No longer bound by the death of her one and only, and promising herself to always carry the love she once carried for him.
If only she saw the faint blue hue, emitting itself from her vision.
