Tucked In (AeQing)

Materializing himself into the Serenitea Pot was quite a surreal experience the first time, but he's gotten used to it. Opening his eyes revealed that the skies of his realm was decorated with the stars of the night sky. Sure, they were in a teapot so they weren't real stars, but it was close enough. Eagerly, he began making his way towards his abode, wondering if his beloved will be there to greet him when he opens those doors. However, after entering his abode, he was greeted with silence, and the main hall was covered with darkness. Perhaps she was already asleep?

Regardless, he was exhausted, and started getting ready for bed. 

After a little while, he had switched to his sleepwear, and made his way to his room. However, he passed by her room, and decided he couldn't help but take a peek. Opening the doors of her room, there she was.

Eyes closed, head laying on her arms, and hundreds of sheets of paper surrounded her desk, the floor, and herself. This was honestly expected of her, as the Yuheng of the Liyue Qixing was always known to push herself beyond her limits, since that's just how she is. Despite how peaceful she looked asleep, he knew that sleeping like this is really uncomfortable. And so, he decided to take matters into his hands. Gently, he lifted her into his arms, and slowly made her way towards her bed. He laid her down, and covered her with a blanket. He was about to get out, until his eyes landed on her face.

He couldn't help but take a seat next to her sleeping figure, and marveled at how peaceful she looked. The exhaustion was still apparent on her face however, and Aether reminded himself to talk to her tomorrow. He reached out on top of her head and began to slowly stroke her hair and traced the lines of her face with his finger. A soft smile would then make it's way towards her face, and he couldn't help but smile back at the sight. He couldn't resist planting a kiss on her forehead, and so he did. He wouldn't notice it, but the smile on her face grew ever so slightly wider. He decided that was enough, and started stepping away from her bed to get to his own room.

That is, until she suddenly took a hold on his hand.

It was quite a strong one too, might he add. He spent a good while just trying to pry open her hand. At least, until his eyes landed once again on her face, eyes slightly open, and her bottom lip pushed out in a clear pout. Confusion colored his face, until a single word came out of her mouth.

"Stay." 

All he could muster up as a response was a small nod. All of a sudden, she pulled him onto the bed, and buried her head onto his chest. Quiet noises of delight came out of her, as she slowly drifted back into sleep. Meanwhile, Aether was still confused on how he should approach this situation, but ultimately decided to enjoy the position he's now in. After all, it's quite rare for her to be this clingy. So, after landing another kiss on her forehead, he circled his arms around her figure, and began to slowly drift into slumber.

You might not be able to see it because of how dark the room is, but if you can, you'd see the joyful smile coloring both of their faces.
