________
Reunions are beautiful. They are what mark the end of something, and the beginning of another thing. Of course, the road to a tearful reunion can be difficult and painful to get, but in the end, it's always worth it.
And now they get to experience a beautiful reunion soon.
__________
For the first time throughout this seemingly never ending war, he could finally see the end of it.
The Traveler's assistance in ending this war was very surprising, as he thought that he simply came to Inazuma to find his lost relative. But now here he was, standing in front of his long gone friend's sword, with the war finally over.
He left his vision there, just because he no longer needs to find someone to inherit it. His friend's wish was finally granted.
And so was his wish, soon. Not long after, he began his journey back to where they promised. Now, he could finally see her again.
However, along the trip, His mind couldn't help but wonder...
Does she still remember him?
It's been so many years since he's seen her, he wouldn't be surprised if she forgot about him. Regardless, he pushed aside those uncertainties, and continued the trip.
"I'm coming home, Miya. I hope you didn't forget."

Hearing the news of the war finally ending was very surprising for her. But on the other hand, she was happy.
Now, she could finally see him again.
She began her daily routine of going to the tree, now optimistic of him being there.
However, she too couldn't stop thinking.
What if he forgot their promise?
What if he was still fighting somewhere?
......
What if he didn't survive the war?
Along the trip, she couldn't stop the endless possibilities that began to enter her mind. She started to fear the worst. It was to the point that she nearly refused to go to the tree, because she didn't want to know what actually happened to him.
Despite all that, she continued. She had faith that he did not forget. Of course, how could he forget? How could the thought of him forgetting cross her mind? That's impossible, she thought to herself.
Steeling herself once more, she continued on, ready to see him again.
"Please be there Kazu..."
__________
When he arrived, he thought that the tree wouldn't have any major changes, but he ended up seeing that it had grown a little, and little decorations had been placed around it.
"You've been busy, haven't you?"
He didn't get a response. Only silence. Perhaps she was on her way, Kazuha thought. On closer inspection, there were a little more than small decorations on the tree. There were also some ornaments, and the set of artifacts that he had given her a long time ago. But what caught his eye even more, was his signature grass flute next to it. And attached to it was a picture. A picture of the two of them, in the tree, smiling.
A smile crept on his face. It seems all his worries were worthless, she truly did still remember him. Looking down at his grass flute on the side, he picked it up and began playing it. And yet, some of the notes that came out didn't sound as pleasing as it usually would.
"Perhaps I may have gotten a bit rusty. Oh well, she isn't here yet. I can relearn this."
____________
There it was. She could see the tree in the distance. Only a few more steps, and she could finally see him again. This time, no more what ifs. No more uncertainties and possibilities. She knew he was there. He had to be. And thus, she took the last few steps.
Finally, she was in front of the tree....
Nothing. There was nothing. He was not there. She stood still, frozen in place. Tears threatened to come out of her eyes, but suddenly, she heard something.
It was a familiar melody. One she remembers fondly, and one that she hasn't heard in so long. She glanced up, and saw him. His eyes were closed, concentrated on the flute that he was playing. She could break down crying in happiness right there, but she decided to savor the melody for now.
After he finished, he jumped down, and after so long, they exchanged eye contact.
This is it. They were back reunited as one. After a long silence, she couldn't hold back the tears, and she ran towards him and tackled him into a hug, to which he returned the favor.
"You're back...." She said as she continued to cry on his chest.
"Yup, I'm back Miya."
They continued to hold each other, savoring each others warmth, before she finally got a good look at his face. A gust of wind may have struck her in the back, because in the next moment, they were kissing. The taste never changed, but they still wanted to savor this moment for as long as they can. Unfortunately, humans need to breathe, and so they separated. But of course, they wanted more. They continued this for a while, before exhaustion got the better of them. But that's fine, they now have all the time in the world.
Nothing can seperate them any more.
"Welcome back, Kazu."
