Snowfall in Inazuma is rather rare, because Inazuma mostly gets rainfall and maybe a few thunderstorms here and there. However, if you're lucky, you would get one of these days.
As the snowflakes slowly fall from the sky, Inazuma has been transformed into a snowy wonderland. The color white as far as the eye can see. The streets exhibiting peace and quiet, covered in a blanket of snow. You could see some activity here and there, like some people drinking some hot cocoa while admiring the snow, or you could also see two people. One, a traveler from another world, and the other, the Shirasagi Himegimi holding hands while wandering the islands of Inazuma.
From the outside, you would think they were just sightseeing, maybe absorbing everything around them. To them however, they almost couldn't care less about the view. They were just too busy enjoying the warmth coming from each other's hand.
Despite the very cold temperatures, their breaths turning into misty clouds, the barrage of snowflakes falling on their hair, none of that mattered to them. For they were too busy enjoying the warmth of each other's company.
Sometimes they would just stop and gaze into each other's eyes, as if the world no longer existed, and it was only just the two of them. They continued walking, with no destination. Rather to continue enjoying the snowfall and enjoying each other's company.
If you were an outsider, you would've never expected the Shirasagi Himegimi to be showing such public affection, yet that didn't matter to her. The only thing that mattered was him. The Traveler. Her one and only.
She held nothing but gratitude, and warm love for her beloved. He was the one who ended the decree that brought years of suffering to the people of Inazuma. He was the one that showed her the wonders of this world, after being chained down by her duties for so long. He was her first, and only love.
The same can be said about him, the Traveler. He too, held nothing but gratitude and warm love for her. His search for his long lost kin has proven fruitless, and he nearly gave up. After which, she came. She gave him a reason to keep going, to keep looking. She gave him the warmth he oh so dearly missed. She's become family to him, and he wouldn't trade her for the world.
The day was nearly ending, and they settled at Komore Teahouse being their final stop. They took a seat at the porch, as Aether began to brew a nice cup of tea for Ayaka, and a cup of boiling hot chocolate for himself. With their hands still intertwined, they sipped their drinks and continued their idle chats, while watching the snowflakes continuing to dance.
As they talked however, Ayaka let something slip.
"I'm quite lucky to have you, Aether..." Ayaka whispered, very quietly. Not quiet enough however, as Aether was easily able to hear it.
She got another good look at Aether, but he was just staring at her. The next sentence he spoke sent her into a flurry of embarrassment.
"I heard that, you know."
In the blink of an eye, the color red began to show itself all over her face, as she stuttered out an apology. That was, until he tightened his grip on her hand.
"Don't worry. I'm quite lucky to have you too, you know." He said, as he directed his gaze back to the dancing snowflakes, and the sunset on the horizon.
Hearing that made her heart race even more, yet she said nothing in response, and only tightened her grip as well. Although her face was still covered in red, a soft smile was also accompanying it.
Snowfall usually lasts for a while, so she's going to make it count.
