"Let's meet under our favorite Sakura Tree once all this is over, okay?"

Separation can be the most painful thing a human heart can experience. Since most of the time, you couldn't know how long you would be separated for. Sometimes it can last a few months, but it can feel like an eternity.

But she knew. She knew he would come back. He promised after all, she knew he would do anything to come back. All she needs to wait.

Waiting. She didn't know how painful it could be. She didn't know how long it would take, or if she would still be here by the time he came back.

More and more time would continue to pass, but she wasn't the Raiden Shogun. Her memory was prone to erosion, like a normal human would. Before, she could vividly recall all of the memories she made with him, but as more time passed, those memories became less vivid. She thought they wouldn't disappear that easily, but someone's memory can't fight the passing of time.

Even so, she would not falter. She would not stop waiting. Every day, she would come to the tree, in hopes that maybe, just maybe, he would be there. Every time she went to the tree, he wasn't there. But that didn't stop her, they both promised each other after all.

Still, the fear of forgetting still lingers. What if she suddenly forgets why she goes there everyday? What if she forgets the reason he's out there, fighting to end this war?

What if she completely forgot about him?

No! I won't let that happen, she thought. Of course, how could she even think that? No matter the pain or cost, she refuses to let her memories of him be forgotten.

However, she couldn't help but wonder...
Does he still remember her?

He's left his home nation a lot, to pursue a life of wandering. And he's left many things behind. But never has it been so hard to leave his loved one behind.

He promised he'd come back, but he couldn't tell her how long it would be. Even if it's only been a year, it felt like an eternity.

Inevitably, his memory is also prone to erosion, like a normal human would. Even if he is a member of the Kaedehara clan, he is still human, and his memory will become affected by the passing of time.

However, he too would not let the passing of time erode his memory. She was his everything. He couldn't let himself forget her, or he wouldn't be able to live with himself.

Even if it seems this war would last longer than an eternity, he would continue to fight the erosion. He couldn't break his promise.

However, he too couldn't help but wonder...
Does she still remember him?
