What a day

The next morning, when I woke up I stretched my foot out and while it was definitely better, it was still a bit sore. I decided that whatever I was doing today to just take it easy. I called Heather to ask if she wanted to get breakfast but she said she was working. When I asked Natalie the same thing she said she was busy but didn't really say doing what. So I decided to text Bishop.

Me: Wanna get breakky?

Bishop🥸: Sounds good, pick you up in 30?

Me: You know it B-)

"Kai!" I called out coming out of my room.

"Yeah?" he called back coming out of his.

"Wanna get breakfast with Bishop?"

"Yeah, sure," he replied.

Me: Can cool boy kai come?

Bishop🥸: You know it B-))

"Be ready in 30" I call back out to Kai.

"Kayyyy," he drags out.

"Get in losers, we're getting breakfast," Bishop says rolling down his window. I get into the passenger and Kai gets into the back while I connect my phone and play some music. We drive down to Dot's Diner and share some french toast and bacon per Kai and Bishop's request.

"So Bishop..." Kai says. "Are you still in love with Heather?" I hit Kai lightly on the shoulder. "Whaaaat? It's just a question. I can't ask questions?"

"It's okay," Bishop reassures me. "I guess you could say that," he admits trying to hide his blush.

"Yeah I think Delilah is in love with that emo kid that works here."

"Kai!" I scold while hitting his arm again.

"Oh no, she definitely is," Bishop nods.

I let my face fall flat and purse my lips in defeat. *Ding* I pull my phone out to see who texted me.

"Ouuu is that your boyfriend?" Kai and Bishop tease in unison.

"Haha very funny— oh wait yeah it is. But he's not my boyfriend!" I exclaim.

Dodge🤠: Pick you up at 3 for our date?

Me: Perfect :)

Dodge🤠: Oh and wear something comfortable that you wouldn't mind getting a little dirty

Me: Uhhh okay weirdo lol

Dodge🤠: See you then ;)

"What are you guys talking abouuuuut?" Kai asks trying to peek at my screen.

"Our date later today," I explain.

"Ouuuu," Kai and Bishop sing together.

"We should head home soon so I can get ready,"

"Alright, but, i don't know why we're leaving so soon. You're gonna look just as bad no matter how long you take to get ready,"

"Need some ice for that Burn Lilah?" Bishop asks making him and Kai laugh even more.

I roll my eyes so hard I'm surprised they're still in my head.

I decide to wear a black bleach-washed shirt paired with blue jeans and white converse. When I finish getting ready, I just sketch until Dodge texts me that he's outside. When I get into the car I notice he's wearing a cowboy hat and a tan button up.
