Everyone has secrets. Having them is a part of life itself. Not everything is publicly declared. They can be as small as a present for a birthday, or something completely life-changing. Secrets are similar to opinions in that sense. Just like secrets, not everyone needs to share their opinion on everything, especially if there's no relevance to that specific situation. Both are okay to have as long as they aren't harming people.
No laws are telling you that having little secrets is illegal. The only time legality becomes a factor is when something life-altering occurs, and that secret could significantly affect the outcome. If you withhold information in such serious situations, more issues also come about. However, this story does not revolve around a courtroom.
When you're blackmailed into having secrets, things can become sticky. When the black-mailing technique revolves mainly around a person's actual life and safety. Especially when you may be hiding certain information or making confident choices in life based on that manipulation, but even so, the real question posed is what makes a secret moral? Is there anything in the world that is able to do that? Secrets and lying can go hand-in-hand, creating a bond of mistrust and hesitation between people.
Can you forgive someone when they keep a secret from you? Even if it's for your own safety?

Lyra didn't expect to ever be alone in the same room with both Black brothers. Both have seen her in opposite positions in life. Both have also had her lying underneath them. Each brother heard her whisper that she loved them in the deep of the night. However, only one knew that it was true for him. The other was lied to and lived a false narrative. One had heard the false hope fall from her lips while she gave the other a sacred promise.
She knew that there was also some other unresolved tension between the two surrounding Sirius, leaving the Black family dynasty and facing disownment. Lyra had heard both party's stories and their emotions surrounding the topic and knew that if they just talked, things would most likely be cleared up, and things would be more amicable between the two. However, there was an added wedge in their relationship. The wedge rocked back and forth on her feet, lips puckered as the warm air wrapped around the group as they stood in silence.
"Why's he here?" Regulus broached the topic first, not beating around the bush as he stared at the two Gryffindors in front of him.
"Because she asked me to come," Sirius jumped in, stopping Lyra from even attempting to defend her actions. The boy stepped around the girl, standing mere feet from his brother, "Is that a problem, Reggie?"
"Wasn't aware you two were on speaking terms," Regulus challenged, hands tucked into his dress-pant pockets as he strolled a bit closer to his brother. The younger of the two had a cocky smirk plastered across his face, and Lyra was learning to regret her decisions. Mainly as he spoke, "Weren't you shagging that French girl?"
"Alright," Lyra intervened, pressing her hand solidly against Sirius's chest as she shoved herself in between the two, "That's enough of that."
The feeling of warmth that spread through Lyra's arm just from the touch of Sirius was something she wished on every star would stop happening. The moment they shared on the stairs still sat heavily on her mind as she remembered the comforting feeling of his arms wrapped around her. The way his breath fanned across her face was too familiar for her to wipe it from her memory. She wanted it to be something she felt daily. She wanted Sirius to be hers to hold and only hers to love.
The looming presence of Regulus dawned on Lyra once more as she tugged her hand away from the beating heart of Sirius Black. The younger brother's colder demeanour was something that Lyra expected, but it felt as though she had stepped into tundra with just how severe it was. She understood he was hurting, and bringing Sirius was probably a nail in the coffin, but Lyra needed to see if she could learn to control her abilities on someone with no mental barriers up.
