Penn Sabitov is an artist.
It is his therapy and his talent.
His paintbrushes have diligently worked throughout this Monday morning.
Today he is very intoxicated.
He paints best when he doesn't think.
Penn guesses he gets it all from his mother.
She, too, loved to paint.
The painting is named: The Naked Lady.
It is a tribute to his mother, Karina Sabitov.
The masterpiece has no barriers.
In it, all her secrets are exposed.
The hurt and shame of being married to Julius.
A body overcome with abuse.
And yet he cannot understand her death.
They say it wasn't Julius; Rada says so too.
The painting is in oil.
Dark blue waters surrounding her naked body.
Penn paints it on his bedroom wall, an accolade.
It is painted with pain.
The woman, old and yet so immature.
She drifts into a space that has no air.
Karina's hair flows all over.
Her eyes are vivid and a blur.
She is shocked and hurt, yet ever so beautiful.
Everything is alive and everything is dead.
When Penn is done, he walks away.
He cannot look at death or his mother's corpse.
The painting is very authentic.
In her hand, Karina has a note.
Penn has painted something no one will ever find.
