What is important to Alanda?

The biggest sin is to be boring.

That is what Alanda has believed her whole life.

Today is an ordinary day.

But Alanda refuses it to be boring.

She is grateful to be living in New York.

The city gives her joy.

Manhattan has been her home for decades.

She is delighted to live in a spacious flat.

It is time to prepare.

She wants to make the perfect dinner.

Something to be remembered, something that will be celebrated.

Cooking is not her strength.

Today, she will succeed in this challenge.

She plans on making a delicious Italian gravy meal.

Her guests will be surprised.

Especially because there will be red wine.

Alanda never drinks wine; she never drinks any alcohol.

It makes her feel confused.

The wine was brought back from Africa.

She bought it on her last little voyage there.

Today will not be boring.

Everything in Alanda screams out these words.

She is desperate for just one day of bliss.

Alanda opens the wine bottle.

She drinks while stirring the fragrant gravy.

The wine has a rich deep taste to it.

A flashback of complete panic!

The last time she drank, she killed.

Maybe that is what this dinner is all about.

To tell them the truth.

The little radio plays a lively song.

She puts the music louder and starts to dance.

The flat is now clean.

But the lively music does not stop.

Alanda does not know the words, but she sings.

Her guests will soon arrive.

This waiting game makes Alanda drink more.

She knows her guests will keep her great secret.

They will carry her burden.

They will understand why she did it.

They will love her even if she is guilty.

That is what family does.

Alanda decides to light her red candles.

One for each of them to show her appreciation.

Three places around the table.

Alanda has always gotten what she wants.

She is a strong woman that fights for herself.

Three empty plates that awaits.

Alanda knows she can never go back.

But who wants to if you are this happy?

Three candles that are burning.

Her two guests are all she has.

Alanda can feel the wine going to her head.

Three knocks on the door.

That is funny; her guests never knock.

They each have a key. They live with her.

Alanda opens the front door.

She gasps and almost falls right there.

It is certainly not her guests that have arrived.
