Part 2: Penn - eleven

Penn waits at the airport.

There is someone he must call today.

He hesitates but then dials Julius' number.

Penn didn't think he'd answer.

'I hope you have something to say.'

'I just wanted to talk to you... you know.'

'Talk? We never just talk.'

It is clear Julius has not changed.

'I have not talked to you since mum died.'

At this, Julius doesn't reply.

'After this, I'll never call you again.

I just want to say that I forgive you.

I want to make peace.

For all those years I forgive you.

All those times you hit mum, even hit me.

Your rage and your wrath.

I think I will never forget it.

But I forgive you, that is all I say...'

Penn can hear Julius breathe.

'I do not ask for your forgiveness.'

Penn did not expect Julius to start loving him.

But his answer is insulting.

A slap in the face, a rebuff.

The time has come to tell Julius the truth.
