~Della~
"You up, honey?" Mum shouts up from the bottom of the stairs.
I groan, ignoring her. And roll over in bed.
"It's almost half past seven, Della. You're going to be l-"
"I'm up!" i snap. Cutting her off. Jesus. I do have an alarm to wake me up. And it's Friday. She could of at least let me have a lie in for the last day.
Yeah, with my mum. No such luck.
"Okay Darling. Pancakes are on the side. Your dad's taking you to school and picking you up" she shouts up with that annoying sweet tone to her voice.
I rush to the top of the stairs. "What, no. I've already got a lift back" i tell her. Staring down at her with a plead to let my boyfriend drop me off home.
It's not so much she has a problem with me having a boyfriend. Just with my choice of boyfriend.
Not that my dad agree's. He hates the fact his fifteen year old daughter is in a relationship.
She folds her arms, giving me this 'I'm not tolerating anything you say today' glare and attitude.
I stomp off, shouting back to her "That's right. You just continue to just ruin my life!" before slamming my bedroom door shut. Becoming more agitated at the fact i hear her giggle from my "strop" as she calls them.
I fling my bag down the stairs, it hits the floor with a thud before climbing onto the banister to slide down. Getting to the bottom just as my dad walks out of the living room. Cup of coffee in hand with his news paper rolled up under his upper arm. He throws me an amused look from my grand entry "Morning!" he chirps. Always seeming to be in a cheery mood first thing.
"Yeah, same to you" i mumble before grabbing my bag and heading off into the kitchen for breakfast.
I slam the fridge door shut, about to just lose my cool completely when i see all the milk has been used... again. This is becoming a joke.
I hear my little brother giggling, sat at the table behind me.
I turn slowly, a scowl already plastered across my face for him. The annoying little shit he is.
I look down at the table. Seeing he's purposely used all the milk. And that he's filled a vase, full with it. And using it as a cup.
He smirks over at me before grabbing the vase with both hands and taking a drink.
He's left with a milk mustache, then lets out a massive belch. Clearly amusing himself as he bursts out laughing. Ugh - The pig!
"Muuuum!" i complain. But of course, I'm ignored.
"Muuum" Danny copies after, mocking me with a chuckle.
I roll my eyes. Getting fed up with the fact that they always favorite him, and seem to ignore me.
"Oh, leave him be" mum always says.
"He's only nine" dad defends him.
"Dad?" i try with him. I'm not going to school without a cup of coffee first.
"Sup?" he pops his head around the door frame, still fixing his tie.
"Danny's had all the milk" i roll my eyes at him to show him I'm getting pissed off at this point.
"Daniel" my dad calls him with that same, annoying, sweet voice mum does "Give your sister some milk" he smiles across at him, then at me.
Danny smiles back at my dad with a nod. But as soon as he's gone he walks over to the sink, emptying all the milk away.
"RIGHT!" I slam my hand down on the kitchen top, snarling at him. "THAT'S IT!" I go after him. Chasing him around the damn kitchen table like a cat and mouse chase.
"Muuuum" he calls out like a little girl. Heading out of the kitchen, neither of us looking where we're going when we both crash into my mum. Cup of coffee in hand... Now on her blouse, wearing it.
"Oops!" we both voice at the same time. Neither of us being able to hold back our laughter. Both staring at the disaster we've just done.
Mum sighs heavily, chewing on her bottle lip, forcing her eyes shut, trying to calm herself down, before storming off, back up the stairs. Shouting out "This house isn't a play ground!" in her annoyed, high pitched, squeaky voice.
Making us laugh again.
"Yeah?" i call back "Shouldn't of bought a mansion then" This house being far too big for just the four of us.
"I did tell her" my dad chuckles as he sorts his briefcase out on the kitchen top.
"You ready?" he asks just as I've got Danny in a headlock.
"Just a sec" i tell him as i begin to rub my knuckles on the top of his head as he tries struggling out of my grip.
"Della. I'm going to be late" he tells me rushing now. Making me laugh that he didn't mind i was lightly beating up his son. Just that he's going to be late for work.
"You own the business. You can be late whenever you want" i tell him, knowing it's a fact.
"Get off your brother" he shakes his head at me with an amused look. "How do you expect me to keep my business if i go in late" he raises a brow at me before grabbing his car keys and heading for the door.
I grab my bag, and almost walk into my dad as he stops just in front of the door. "Bloody hell dad!" i complain, almost knocking me off of my feet.
"Shout goodbye to your mother" he chuckles.
"GOODBYE TO YOUR MOTHER!" i shout up the stairs. Earning a chuckle and a push out of the door from my dad. Clearly getting my humorous side and sarcasm from him.
I put my belt on, and then search for a good song on the radio station.
"Listen-" my dad leans to the side slightly "We was going to tell you tonight. But you know, you're a grown girl now. And i think you're going to take it better than Danny will so..." he fades off as he takes a right.
"Soooo?" i encourage him to continue. Never really interested in the things my parents have to say. But something about his body language is telling me he's a little... nervous? Uneasy, about what he's going to say.
"Dad?" i smile across at him.
"Me and your mum have been thinking. And we've had a chat. It's something we've talked about doing for a while now-"
I cut him off. "Just get on with it dad" i push him.
"We're going to... adopt" he smiles quickly at me before taking his attention back to the road.
My mouth drops open slowly, not knowing what to say... He peeks a glance at me again. My expression clearly hilarious to him.
"WHAT?!" i shout out.
