I switched the hot tap on to the bath and decided a nice hot soak would be the best thing for her. She needs to relax and stop getting herself worked up about it. It's happened now. It's over and done with. There's nothing she can do to change it.

I curse under my breath, reaching for the tap sends a shooting pain to stab painfully into my ribs. I hadn't even looked to check the damage. I felt as though I'd broken a fucking rib though. But I knew he'd be in a worse state than me, which instantly made me smile and feel slightly smug. George was right, I'd have probably tried killing him.

The sound of her crying in her bedroom hit me in the chest again. I had no idea why this was affecting me so much. I just knew I had to try my best to help her through it. If she'd let me.

I make my way back to her, she lays in a ball on her bed, holding herself as she stares across at the wall. Lifeless. I'd probably do just about anything to help her. But I just had to concentrate on making her feel better.

I didn't want to disturb her. But I couldn't just leave her like this.

"I've er-" I began talking over her sobs "I've ran you a bath, Della"

She didn't respond. She just wiped at her cheeks. Her eyes still fixed in the same place.

I made my way over to her, sitting at the side of her carefully. "It might make you feel a little better" I tried persuading her. I wanted to touch her. To pull her up and hold her. But I didn't know how she'd react. I've not exactly been her favorite person since I arrived here.

Again, nothing from her. So I realized giving her some space would be the best thing. I took in a deep breath and stood to leave.

"Don't go!" she said rushed. Sitting up and staring up at me. Her eyes pleading with me.

I sat back down and decided to go against my fear. I pulled at her arm and brought her into me. Not caring at that point if she fought against me or screamed at me to not touch her.

But to my surprise she didn't. She flew into my chest, throwing her arms around my neck and clung onto me. Squeezing me as though someone or something was trying to pull her away from me.

"Please don't leave me" She sobbed into my neck. Her hot breath hitting me and sending a shiver to travel down my back. Leaving me confused.

"I'm not going anywhere" I reassured her, rubbing gently at her back in an aim to calm her down.

She broke away from me but stayed close to me, "I don't want to be on my own" she whispered, staring at her hands.

"Hey" I fought for her attention. She gave me it, lifting her head slowly "I'll wait right outside the bathroom door if it helps you. Okay?"

I watched her, her eyes fixed back on me. She nodded slowly and got up from the bed.

Both heading for the door, side by side. She quickly took my hand in hers and flashed me a timid smile. It was a small, unsure smile. But it sent a flood of relief to wash through me, just seeing her smile eased up some of the tension in me. But her actions only added more confusion to crash into my head.

Dells had been in the bath for about 10 minutes now. My arse was going numb from being sat on the floor. But I promised to wait her until she was done.

"Matty?"

"Yeah?" I turned my head towards the door so I knew she'd hear me.

"Just checking" she said and followed a small giggle from her that instantly made me smile like a mad man.
