~Della~

"Right. Everything's in the boot" My mum mumbles her thoughts out loud as she takes a look around, making sure she has everything. They're only going for two nights. You'd think they were going for a month with all my mums baggage.

I look across at Matty as we all gather at the front door to say our goodbye's. He chats to my dad with a straight face. Not at all fazed or bothered that we're going behind my parents back here, by throwing a massive house party tonight.

What if we break something? What if a passer by hears or see's... I'm dead. I'll be dead. They'll ground me for life, and I'll die of loneliness in my bedroom. Or boredom. There's nothing over the top, or extreme here about what I'm saying. It will happen!

"I will, Mr Jones" i hear Matty telling my dad with a nod. "I'll take good care of the house and Della. You have my word" Ugh. My stomach flips again. Why the hell did i agree to this? Oh yeah... So Matty can finally make some friends and leave me alone. And hopefully Adam will come and i can find out why he seems to be ignoring me.

I roll my eyes, staring across at both of them. I think you'll find i'll be the one looking after the house. And i sure as hell can look after myself.

I hadn't realized my mum coming over to me, until she begins to faff about with my hair. Moving a strand from my face as she studies me. "What's the matter?" she has to bend to get a better look at me, with wearing her six inch heels.

I shake my head. "Nothing" i tell her. Managing a fake smile up at her. "Just tired" Which i actually am. I hardly slept a wink. I already know this party is a bad idea. That playing on my mind as well as Adam ignoring my texts. - I'm sure they'll be a reasonable explanation to it anyway.

We stand waving as they pull out of the garage and head down the driveway. "It's party tiiiiime!" Matty claps his hands together before vanishing back inside.

I take in a deep breath. "Woo" i scoff to myself sarcastically.

I close the front door. Wracking my brain of something to do now. The party isn't going to be until tonight, obviously. And there's a cat in hells chance I'm staying in all day, with him, alone. I look down at the table near the door. My dad's credit card sits in the white marble bowl.

That's odd. Has he left it accidentally? He's going to need that.

I pull my phone out, ready to text him and let him know.

"Aww" Matty chuckles. "Missing mummy and daddy already? They've only been gone ten seconds" he throws his head back to laugh at me.

"Shut up, dickhead. My dad's left his credit card" i tell him. Even though it's non of his damn business.

"Yeah, he left it for us to use" he shrugs.I frown across at him confused. "Shopping and shit"

Well, that's a first then. I cancel the text and push my phone back into my pocket.

Then i guess I'm going shopping then. And while I'm out... I'm going to see if i can find a cute, cheap dress. In an aim to show Adam what he's been missing and ignoring. This will probably be the only time i get the house to myself. Meaning Adam can come around without feeling as though he's being watched every second. It means we can do whatever we want. So i dunno.. Tonight could be THEE night for us. I laugh at my wicked thinking before running up the stairs for my jacket.

"What?" Matty asks, confused, but then gives me an amused look because he's just gave away that he was watching me, again.

"Nothing. I'm going shopping" i shout down to him.

"Okay. I'll grab my coat" he shouts back.

What? No.

"No. I am" i tell him. Hoping he reads the tone to my voice. I don't need him giving his thoughts and throwing his two pence worth in about girl things. I can't be giving away any clues to what my plan is tonight for me and Adam.

"Della. I'm coming too" he bites back. Not budging.

God sake! Can i ever get rid of him? He's becoming my shadow!

We get to the shopping centre. I constantly look behind me, making sure he stays lagging behind a bit. I don't even want to be seen out with him. The fact he's dressed like a scruff, being the main reason. His black t-shirt looks like it hasn't seen an iron for months. And ripped holes in his jeans at the knee's, looks as though he's had possession of those jeans since he was a toodler.

Each time i look back, he catches me looking. Throwing me a grin every time. Purposly annoying me.

"I'm going in here" I tell him, already heading inside. In a way to tell him to back off and leave me to shop alone now.

I head straight for the dresses. The underwear section catches my attention as i pass by. I make a mental note to myself to make sure i pick something up. In an attempt to at least try and be sexy for Adam tonight. I don't think i own a pair of knickers and bra that actually match.

And this is our first. For both of us. Everything has to be perfect. He's going to be so surprised. I can't wait to show him and tell him.

He's never once pestered me into having sex. He's never made me feel under pressure or complained. But i do fear if i keep him waiting any longer, he's going to get fed up of waiting for me. We've been together almost a year now. So yeah, i think i am ready. We're ready.

I eventually decide on a plain black, mid length and strapless dress. With a tight elastic material. I know he'll love it as much as i do. I fight down the doubt in my head that he may not even turn up. This is Ad here, he's never been one to turn down a party.

I make my way over to the laundry section, and again. I'm stuck between a choice of two. The red or blue. They both look amazing. But with me deciding against buying this on my dad's card... because of obvious reason's. I can only afford the one. I stand, both held up as i examine them both. I think I'll go with the....

"Red" Matty's voice calls out behind me.

I freeze. And then panic hits me. I shove them both back onto the rail infront of me. As though i wasn't doing anything. And silently wish he's just vanish.

"Pick the red one" he voices again. His tone serious.

I sigh. Keeping my back to him. "I told you to wait outside!" i snap. Embarrassment swallowing me whole. I wish the groud would just open up. Does he not realize how awkward this is. On so many levels?

I peak a glance behind me. Seeing he's actually listened for once as he walks out of the strore slowly.

I sigh in relief. Just about to leave the underwear. But i stop. Reaching for the red one again.

Annoying as it is to admit, he's right. The red one is perfect.

I do happy dance in my mind, my inner self jumping around clapping with pride as i make my way over to the counter. Remembering to pay for them both seperatly.
