A stream of small rocks and minerals is carried through the night, passing through all the neighborhoods where the lights flicker and the alleys are large and dark. Eventually the stream of sand turns a corner and splashes onto a sidewalk. The rocks and minerals slowly reform, gaining more and more mass. They get taller and taller, before forming the shape of Flint Marko, then all at once the sand turns back to clothes and skin.
In front of Marko is a stairwell that leads to the basement of a building. It's reminiscent of a subway's entrance. He walks down the flight of stairs and tries to open the large metal door. It doesn't budge, so he enlarges his fist and smashes the side of the door, breaking the lock, he opens it and walks in. A man behind a bar table jumps when he notices Marko.
"Hey you can't just walk in here!" He says, putting down the beer he was holding.
"What are you a cop?" Marko says.
The man's eyes shift, then he stares at Marko, "A-Are you?"
Marko scoffs and walks to the back side of the bar. There's a bunch of pool tables set up, the green felt covering the top peeling off. By the tables there's booths, at one of these booths sits a man with dirty blonde hair and a quilted yellow coat.
Flint goes and sits in front of him. "Herman Shultz." He says, Herman is looking down at his beer, trying to keep his head down.
"I don't want no trouble," Herman replies, still looking down, "just leave me alone."
"You don't get that privilege." Marko says again, staring him down.
Herman finally looks up at Marko and his eyes widen. His brows furrow and his mouth hangs open, slightly jolting like he's trying to say something. "M-Marko?" He says, sitting up in the booth. "You're... alive?"
"No thanks to you."
"Listen you don't understand, Fisk wanted those weapons as soon as possible and- well we thought you were dead-"
"During that robbery," Marko cuts him off, "at Oscorp, when I got locked in that crazy machine, and I was yelling for my partner's help... did you even think about helping me? Or did you just wanna please the big man?"
"Cmon Flint you know it's not like that," Herman says, putting his beer aside, "we were partners for a long time before that and you think I'd just throw that away for some-"
"Money?"
"Yea... for some money."
