Spider-Man crawls on the side of the ESU physics building and pulls his satchel off of where he webbed it on the wall. He then gets to the roof and rummages through the bag. He pulls out bandages and alcohol for his wounds. He applies them where the need be and puts his winter clothes back on. He goes inside the building and down the flights of stairs leading to Doctor Connors class. Right when he reaches the class he bumps into Connors heading outside.
"Jesus, Parker, you-- what happened to your face?" Connors asks, while looking at Peter and locking his class's door.
"I-- uh-- i fell pretty bad," Peter responds, trying to think of an excuse, "that's why I took so long but.. why are you closing up?"
"You serious?" Connors says, showing Peter his watch, "my class ends at 12:50." The watch reads 1:03 P.M.
"But I--"
"Listen, Peter," Connors cuts Peter off, not wanting to hear another excuse, "I don't wanna hear 'this happened because this happened because this happened,' I know you're better than this, where do you run off to all the time?"
Peter looks at him, he obviously wants to say something. He's so close to just telling Connors the truth. "Doctor Connors..." Peter starts, unsure of where the sentence will lead him, "I---". Connors leans in, waiting for a response, and a good one. "This class means everything to me...it's just that I have certain responsibilities, and I know I can do better if I just--"
"Responsibilities? Like going to the bathroom is a responsibility. Peter, I accepted you into my class because I saw how brilliant you can be, and all I've seen so far is disappointment. I know there is something great in there somewhere," he taps Peter on the forehead, "but... to give you some time to prove that to me, I'm going to have to put you on academic probation."
"Nononono," Peter says, begging, "one more chance, please, that was the last time, I promise."
Connors looks at Peter, who is obviously shocked and worried. He sighs, "Okay, one more chance, I expect you here on time and I expect that for the rest of the year? Got it?" Connors reaches out his hand for a handshake. Peter excitedly shakes it, "Yes, got it, I won't disappoint you."
Connors starts walking away, "I hope not, see you Friday, Parker."
Peter starts walking to the 1st floor and pulls out his phone. I don't get it, he thinks, my phone said it was only 12:35. He looks at his phone, it's glitching and very cracked. The time glitches then freezes, it reads 12:35. Damn it... must've broken when I fell, he thinks to himself, Now what am I gonna do, I can barely afford food let alone a new phone. Guess it's time to use the emergency box I have at home, but I'm out of webs... aw man I gotta use the subway now.Peter sits in the subway and many people around him are reading the newest paper from The Daily Bugle. Talking about how "Spider-Man racked up hundreds of thousands of dollars in property damage," and that "The police could have handled it." Through all the memering he sees a kid and his mom sitting across from him. The kid points at the paper and shows it to his mom.
"Momma look!" he says, pushing out breaths of excitement, "Spider-Man saved the day again!" The mom laughs and puts her arm around the boy and pulls the boy in. "Si mijo, he always does."
Peter closes his eyes ready to take a nap on the way to his apartment, and cracks a smile.
