Peter walks into the lobby of the Bugle and spots a woman selling coffee. He walks over to her and buys a medium caramel macchiato. He pulls out a crumpled 10 dollar bill and hands it to her.
"You owe me 3 more dollars," she tells Peter.
"Uhm... that's all I have on me right now."
"Well then I can't give you this coffee."
"I'm about to go up and get paid can I just take the coffee and come back down and pay you back?"
"Not gonna happen."
Peter sighs and walks towards the elevator. He presses the button for the top floor and stands, looking at all the Daily Bugle articles plastered over the walls of the elevator as some sort of decoration.
SPIDER-MAN: MENACE
SPIDER-MAN: THREAT
SPIDER-MAN: THREAT OR MENACE?
All of the articles have something in common, on the cover photo in small gray letters on the bottom right you can see a small label that reads: "Photos by Peter Parker".Peter pulls out the photos of Spider-Man and Fisk and inspects them. "Let's hope JJ still finds my photos amusing."
The elevator dings and the doors open, signifying Peter has finally reached the top floor, home of J Jonah Jameson's infamous office. There are Christmas lights hung on the ceiling, with a little Christmas tree in the corner of the room. The top floor is rumbling and bustling, probably scattering to find some photos of the event from that morning.
Peter starts walking forward, passing all the employees running past and pushing him aside trying to fulfill Jonah's needs. He suddenly hears a familiar voice and turns to see none other than Betty Brant walking towards him.
"Long time, Pete," she says, while hugging him, "haven't seen you around here in a while."
"Not long enough," he says, scanning the office and thinking of all the times he'd walk in with new pictures of Spider-Man.Betty looks at him, playfully offended.
"I mean... that wasn't directed towards you," Peter says frantically, "it's always good to see you, Betty."
She chuckles, "Sure, Peter," she then walks towards her desk and Peter follows. "So what can I do for you?"
"We'll actually I'm here to see-"
*BZZZZZZZ*
Suddenly the buzzer on Betty's desk goes off, and a loud voice comes through. "MISS BRANT, IS THAT PETER PARKER IN MY BUILDING?!"
Peter looks to the left and sees J Jonah Jameson in his office room looking at them through the window connecting the two rooms.
Betty clicks the speaker, "yes Mr. Jameson, it is."
"WELL TELL HIM TO GET OUT! LAST TIME HE WAS HERE HE WENT ON AND ON ABOUT HOW HE'S BETTER THAN US!"Betty looks up at Peter and he scoffs. He slowly turns towards the elevator and slowly begins to walk.
"No wait actually," Jonah's voice comes through the buzzer again, "TELL HIM TO COME IN HERE I NEED TO TALK TO HIM!" Peter then turns right back around and confidently walks toward Jameson's office.
